Herodium in Bethlehem, Israel, is an important archaeological site housing King Herod’s impressive palace. King Herod was also buried here after the Great Revolt & Herodium was abandoned, until the Jews built a synagogue here, which can still be seen today.

King Herod was born in the Holy land, but fled to Rome where he spent his youth & he was later pronounced King of Judea in Rome. On his return to Judea, he committed this lavish palace to be built for all to see.
