{ neighbourhood - Mount Edgcumbe } The Folly at Mount Edgcumbe estate was built circa 1747, as a playground for Edgcumbe’s kids. It was built from medieval stone taken from the ruined churches of St George and St Lawrence, at Stonehouse. The scene from the folly and the hill is stunning. It faces Drakes Island, Plymouth Sound and Plymouth city itself.
