Tammy and Greg ( aka @chasingthecashes ) took us hiking up to Lower Blue Lake in the Mount Sneffels Wilderness Area. There are two waterfalls on the way to the beautiful trout filled lake and another one coming down the mountain filling the lake. It was a challenging hike due to the 3+ mile steady uphill climb that was a total incline, but the rewards at the end were worth it. We sat on a log for lunch and watched trout snag flies off the top of the lake. The same day I finished Slickrock, I met Dustin Tran in Ouray, CO, and we climbed our first Fourteener—Mt. Sneffels. Its name is whimsical but the face is anything but—loose, ankle-rolling rocks layered on vertigo-inducing grades bring one to a small 5 foot ledge before the summit where a slip of the hand or foot would guarantee instant death.
