Mounts Arjuno and Welirang are known as the highest twin mountains in East Java. Mount Arjuno has no crater, so the white smoke seen comes from Mount Welirang. Its highest peak, at 3,399 meters above sea level, offers stunning sunrise views.
Before climbing, prepare a jacket, long pants, trekking shoes, and a headlamp. The temperature in this mountain area ranges from 5–10 degrees Celsius. With proper preparation, the climb will be comfortable and memorable.
