Portobello French Dips
Marinating portobello mushrooms is nothing short of mouth magic. We didn’t even miss the chuck roast I would’ve ordinarily roasted for several hours for the traditional favorite. A giant cup of meat juice (aka au jus) made this a mouthwatering feast and we couldn’t get enough. We were literally watching each other eat our last morsels, more than a little dismayed at not making enough for seconds, nevermind leftovers.
Ingredients:
1 medium onion, sliced 2 garlic cloves, chopped 3 portobello mushroom caps (about 20 oz. total), cleaned 1 cup vegetable broth 1 packet (or mini jug) Au Jus seasoning 3-4 inch french sandwich rolls, sliced Condiments as desired (butter, horseradish, mustard)
Mushroom Marinade: 2 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce 2 Tbsp Balsamic Vinegar 2 tsp Mushroom flavored soy sauce 2 Tbsp Zesty Italian or other vinaigrette dressing 1-2 chopped garlic cloves
Whisk all ingredients
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 400 degrees
1. Line baking sheet with foil and place mushroom caps top-side down and drizzle with marinade, set aside for 30 min. Pick out a great movie and prepare for a delectable meal shared with your adoring wife. 2. Heat skillet over medium heat and add onion and cook to release water, about 3 minutes. Add oil and stir a few times to coat with olive oil. Allow to cook until caramelized, about 10 minutes. Add garlic and cook about 2 minutes more. Transfer onions and garlic to a plate. At this point, the kitchen smells amazing and your wife is really checking you out.
3. Prepare Au Jus according to package directions.
4. Bake mushrooms approx. 10 - 12 min. until soft and you can’t bear to wait any longer. Your wife can’t wait much longer either. Add onions to baking sheet and bake an additional 3-4 min.
5. Put rolls in paper bag and add to oven during the last 5 min. of mushroom caps cooking. She loves the way you shake it.
5. Remove rolls from bag and slather the insides of rolls with horseradish, butter, or mustard.
6. Slice mushrooms and divide with onions among toasted french rolls. Make a note to double this recipe next time because your wife can’t get enough of you, or these magic sandos.
7. Serve with Au Jus and arm wrestle for seconds. Let her win. <3

I'm going to come clean right now...
I don't have a favorite part of the Oreo. The cookie alone is too bland and the cream alone is too sugary. Only when they are combined is where the mouth magic starts to work.
