I have recently applied (And was accepted!) to attend Invisible Children’s Fourth Estate Leadership Summit at the University of California (UCLA), this summer from August 9th through the 11th.
The Fourth Estate Leadership Summit is a conference for students who want to meet the people, learn the skills, and gain the experiences that will help them make a difference in their own communities and around the world.
Anyone who knows me, knows that I am incredibly adamant in advocating peace and promoting justice for basic human rights, which is why I would love to attend this conference. I want my life to mean something. I want to make a difference in this world.
This conference will also go in hand with learning skills I will use after I graduate fromKentState. I am an entrepreneurship major with a minor in nonprofit studies. I hope to one day start my own nonprofit or work for another nonprofit. Who knows, maybe one day I will work for Invisible Children inLos Angeles. The skills I learn at this conference will also help me in other school clubs that I am in for which I am on the E-board for a few.
The total cost is about $800 and for a full time college student who doesn't work except for holidays that is just about impossible to get! I am asking for donations. Anything you can give would be great even if it is only a dollar.
Above is a video of myself telling more about the summit and how much it would mean to me if I went. Please help me out by donating at www.stayclassy.org/Brandigarsteck
