On Saturday March 24th 1984, we met a brain, an athlete, a basket case, a princess and a criminal at Shermer High School in Shermer, IL. Shermer High School never existed. North Maine High School in Des Plaines, IL became John Hughes' location for The Breakfast Club's Saturday detention. Exterior shots were filmed here as well as the library set being constructed inside the school's old gym. The school was already closed when filming began back in the 80s, and it's now a IL State Police building! Being here was AWESOME! Don't you forget about me!
