Another Friday night.
Wanted to go out tonight, but again condemned to stay at home due to circumstances beyond my control. Time to watch some of the movies I’ve bought but not got around to yet. Just did “The Grandmaster” and while it is good, “The Raid” it is not. Or “Chungking Express” for that matter. Seemed to lack a coherent narrative and I’m honestly sick of wire work in action scenes! Been done to death and now it’s a total cliche when someone. defying the laws of physics by spiraling through the air 70 feet, crashes into a building, gets up wiping themselves off like nothing happened. Please stop it!!!
Apart from that, it was pretty good, just not up to my expectations from a director as accomplished as he is.
