It’s like every two weeks I’m posting on here about a housing crisis and how I have no idea where I’m going to live in the next couple months. The times before now though I wasn’t in complete panic mode about it cause I kinda knew what was going to end up happening, but now I am in absolute panic mode. I just went to sign the lease of the place I was going to move into and they fucking raised the rent another 50 dollars. They wanted me to pay 700 a month for 6 months. 700 fucking dollars. Initially the rent was going to be 550 for me to share an apartment with 2 roommates, but they said since it was only 6 months they were going to charge another 100. That pissed be off cause I could’ve got 1 roommate for that price at the same place, but it was like whatever I’ll take it cause it’s only 6 months. Then today they wanna add on another 50. I almost signed the lease too, but something told me to just wait to talk to my mom. 700 dollars to live with 2 other people is fucking robbery, they were not getting off on me. Now I’m stuck again with the dilemma of finding a new place to live. I think I might have another place in mind that’s a 1 bedroom, no roomates, but I would have to pay for my own internet, wash my clothes at my aunt’s house, and it’s not furnished. The only furniture I have now that I own is my tv (if you count that as furniture), my tv stand, and my dresser. My bed is with my mom in Georgia. My cousin is supposed to be moving into some place, a studio, where he’s only paying like 600 for 3 months cause it’s a short term lease so I’m going to ask him about that. If worse comes to worse, I’d have to move in with my aunt. My other cousin is moving out to go to SIU so I would get his shoebox room. I would save a ton of money, but my aunt’s house is not the cleanest and I would still have to live with my other two cousins who are 6 and 13. I’ve gotten to used to being an adult and doing whatever I want when I want to be living under someone else’s supervision again. I fucking hate apartment hunting. I wish my mom never moved to fucking Georgia. I rather live with her again than my aunt. At least she’d never be home that often. Wish me luck on finding another place, I guess.
