Hey, everyone ! We’re so sorry if this feels abrupt in any way, but Jessie and I have been discussing the state of the group a lot lately and we’ve decided that the best thing to do is place everything on a temporary hold until we can have a conversation with all the members and decide together what our next step should be. This means that while we do encourage everyone to continue RPing if you’d like, we will not be accepting any new applications at this time (very sorry to the anons in our inbox! we greatly appreciate your interest); nor will we be posting plot drops/events or doing activity checks. 

This decision has come from a lot of factors that I won’t delve into here, but they basically all add up to the fact that the atmosphere of this group has dwindled down greatly from the fun, exciting, and (we believe) welcoming place it once was. We’ve put so much into mow and it’s been mine and Jessie’s baby for over five months now, and we hope moving forward that we can do what’s best for all of you incredible members. So please stay tuned for an announcement in the discord group in which we’ll elaborate on the issues we’ve been facing and which we hope will open up a conversation about where we should go from here.

We’ve actually got a couple of announcements for you lovelies today !

Our next acceptance date will be Monday, November 5th, with the submit closing on November 4th at 11:55pm EST. This gives a bit more time than usual for people to work on their apps, so we’re really hoping to see some contenders for our five open roles ! This delayed acceptance date was chosen so that new members won’t be coming in during the hubbub of the Christmas holidays in-game. 

Which brings us to our second announcement ! This Friday, the in-game date will be December 20th, the official start of the Christmas holidays. Characters are welcome to go home or stay at Hogwarts during this time, it’s up to you. Starting on Friday, we will be engaging in a time jump, so that our characters aren’t all separated for too long. The entirety of the holidays, from when the students go home on December 20th to when they return on January 3rd, will take place from this Friday through Wednesday. 

Players will have these few days to start any threads taking place over the holiday, or write self-paras about what their character is doing during this time. If you don’t write any new threads or self-paras, we still strongly encourage you to publish just a list of bullet points describing what your character did and any events that occurred in their life over the holiday. You are still definitely allowed to keep writing pre-holiday threads during the time jump, and to continue your holiday threads come next Thursday.

We’ve discussed our next acceptance date and decided that the submit will be closing on Tuesday, December 4th, at 11:55pm EST. Acceptances will then be posted on Wednesday morning, as soon as we’ve both had time to discuss them. We’re very hopeful that maybe we’ll be able to fill all of our three open roles in this round, so please check them out ! And as always, let us know as soon as possible off anon if you won’t be able to make the deadline.

Hi, everyone ! We’ve discussed setting an acceptance date and decided that the submit will be closing on Wednesday, December 19, at 11:55pm EST ! Any decisions will then be posted the following morning. We only have one open role at the moment, the wonderful Padma Patil, so we’d love to get her here as soon as possible !

We’ve now discussed setting an acceptance date, and decided that our next round will take place this upcoming Sunday ( November 25th ), with the submit closing at 11:55pm EST Saturday night. If you want your app to be considered for this round, please submit it before then or message us off anon if you have a problem making the deadline. We’d love to welcome more new members into our group and fill up our six open characters, so please let us know if you have any questions about mow or about applying !!

Now that we’ve finished that round of acceptances, we want to officially announce a new change to our rules --- current members are now officially permitted to apply for a second character !! There are certain restrictions/requirements for this, however, which you can find below. 

You must message an admin first before you start working on your app. Both of us will discuss whether we think your activity has been high and consistent enough to play more than one character and let you know ! We will only say yes if we’re confident that you’re active enough to split your time between two roles. 

Players can ask to apply for a second character after three weeks of being in the group. 

Please keep in mind that we will still prioritize new members ! If it comes down to a choice between your app and an outside applicant’s, we will be much more likely to bring a new person into the group. If the role reopens, however, you’re more than welcome to re-send the same app again. 

You cannot apply for anyone who has a pre-set connection with your first character, or someone in the same house as your first character. Please keep mutual connections in mind as well (for example, maybe don’t apply for the best friend of the person your character is dating, unless you’re sure that your first character wouldn’t interact much with them).

At least one of your characters must be a POC.

Important update for our members, please LIKE THIS POST if your character is participating in tomorrow’s protest of the Halloween feast. We need to know for the purposes of the plot drop which characters end up walking out. We will also be posting this in the OOC discord admin server for people to react to if they’re on hiatus and aren’t logged in to tumblr. Please note that your character does not need to be in the D.A. to join the protest, they just need to have heard about it from someone else !

Good evening, everyone !! That marks the end of another round of acceptances, but we’ve still got six open roles we’d love to fill soon ! We’ve been active for nearly four months now, and we know it can be intimidating to apply for an already well-established group, but I promise we’d love to have you. Personally, I’d die to see some applications for Anthony Goldstein, Ernie Macmillan, and Lily Moon, as well as the rest of our open characters ! We’ll hopefully be setting our next acceptance date soon, so let us know if you have any questions about applying !!
