Iām not completely happy with how this turned out but I do like how itās just like a simple snippet. You can picture it with 10 or 11, I like to picture it with 11 :) I hope you like it, let me know what you think! - admin em

āW-what are you doing?ā The Doctor jumped at the sound of your voice, having thought he was alone.
He quickly hid his tools behind his back, putting on a wide smile trying to act casual. Steam was rising behind him and the TARDIS was whirring wildly, highly suggesting something was wrong. You assumed the TARDIS had broken down again, as she had been doing frequently.
āOh, again?ā You stretched to look behind him, wanting to see what was wrong though you likely wouldnāt be able to tell anyway.
āNothing to worry about,ā he kept it hidden. āI have it under control, you just run along and get some rest.ā
With a raised brow you crossed your arms, his behavior was odd. It was obvious the TARDIS just needed repairs so what was the point in hiding it? Normally you wouldnāt care much but you were particularly bored and decided to get some entertainment from it.
You peaked around him again, āOh, cāmon. What? Did you spill some tea on the wiring again?ā
The silence from him made you gain a true curiosity. Surely he hadnāt made that mistake again though it was an accident the first time as well. Plus, knowing him, there was a very likely chance that he would do it again. It would explain why he was hiding it from you.
āDoctor,ā you stepped closer, āyou didnāt.ā
āWell, I never said I did.ā
āYou never said you didnāt.ā
He pressed his lips together, sighing in defeat. He wasnāt sure why he was still trying to hide it, you clearly knew the cause. The cloud of smoke behind him wasnāt exactly fading to help him with his cover either. Sheepishly he stepped aside, revealing a tangled mess of wires and even more chaos than you couldāve imagined.
Your eyes widened, āThis isā¦ā
āA complete mess?ā He finished.
It was clear to see that he was frustrated with his work, tools spread out through his workspace, and knot after knot in the TARDIS. You felt bad for her, being left with no one but him to repair her for so long. The Doctor felt bad for her for the same reason and found himself constantly apologizing as he worked away.
He was right, it was a complete and utter mess. The longer you looked at it the more confused you were, finding seemingly no end to his mess. You werenāt even sure what to say or where to begin. The only thing you had to offer was a very confused, slightly irritated, and somewhat sympathetic face.
āDonāt give me that look!ā He huffed, running a hand through his hair as he looked to the TARDIS.
āWhat other look am I supposed to give you? I just,ā you let out a breathy laugh, āI canāt believe you did it again.ā
His eyebrows furrowed, āIt wasnāt my fault!ā He straightened his posture and adjusted his jacket, āWell, at least not this time.ā
With a laugh, you shook your head. You didnāt need any explanation for whatever occurred, it didnāt really matter at this point. The TARDIS needed any help and the Doctor could use some assistance too. The only skill you had to offer was untangling some wires but it was still something. You spent hours fixing it, doing your best to help one another stay calm to work properly. After, the Doctor was of course ready for another adventure immediately.
āMaybe after some sleep, that was exhausting.ā You stood, sleepily rubbing your eyes with a yawn.
He jumped to his feet, āExhausting? I did most of the work.ā
āPhysically, sure,ā you chuckled. āBut I had to listen to you ranting the entire time, about your own previous repairs.ā
āMy other generation was a complete klutz!ā He defended, setting his tools down dramatically.
You recalled that he had just made that same repair only a few trips ago but decided against pointing it out, too tired to care.
āOkay, okay. Well, in any case, Iām in desperate need of sleep.ā You ruffled his hair, āIāll see you later.ā
He grumpily fixed his hair as you walked away, āI get to pick where weāre going! Itāll be something spectacular!ā
āIt always is with you.ā
