🎞️🛌💘 - @darliings !
Aaa!!! Thank you for the questions!!! 🥹💕
🎞️ What ‘canon’ scenes would the fandom point to as evidence for the validity of your ship?
Well… I like to imagine that Moxie and Sanji got together pretty quickly in One Piece. Moxie doesn’t show up until after the timeskip, so she hasn’t been around as long as the other characters, but the chemistry is definitely there from the start. Before they officially become a couple, there’d be little moments….like the way they always lock eyes with this soft, lingering look. And Moxie would constantly make flirty little comments about how cute Sanji is, especially around Nami and Robin. Of course, they’d catch on and ask if she liked him, and she’d just awkwardly dodge the question, never really confirming or denying it. You could FEEL something was going on, even if they wouldn’t admit it yet.
🛏️ What tropes show up in fics involving your ship?
Ohhh there’s a bunch! First we’d start with the hurt/comfort trope, because they’ve both been through a lot emotionally and physically, and they help heal each other. You’d also see heavy jealousy pop up (from both sides which is hilarious. Literally the most jealous couple to ever exist) and very obvious mutual pining is a big one. Also can’t forget the “reunion after years apart” trope, which hits so hard in their story.
💘: Why would people love your ship? Why would people dislike your ship? How might it start debates?
People would probably love Moxie and Sanji’s ship because of how chaotic but soft their dynamic is. Like, Sanji being all flirty and smooth while Moxie is just unhinged and lovey dovey one second, then threatening violence the next? It’s gold. They’ve got history, angst, drama, pining, and a ton of emotional payoff. Plus Sanji deserves someone who really sees him, and Moxie does. But overall you can tell just how genuinely they love each other and it’s sweet. They really are each others whole world. On the other side, some people might hate the ship because Moxie’s a newer character who gets introduced later in the story. That can clash with people’s attachment to Sanji’s other ships, especially the ships involving him and the other Straw Hats. Some might even find Moxie “annoying” or “too much” because of how bold and emotional she is, or think she steals focus from the canon plot. It could totally start debates in fandom spaces over what kind of partner actually suits Sanji but if they were smart they’d realize Moxie was the correct choice ;D👍🏻🩷
