Oh man something more recent would be Mob Psycho 100 - i was planning on self shipping w/ Reigen when i first got into it but it just never happened so thats up in the air! But this series was fantastic - not just the animation which was so smooth and fun to look at (studio bones supremacy) but the story behind how it even got animated! (im p sure it started w/ OPM actually and then followed the authors other work? idk but still.)
The original manga wasnt amazingly drawn but had such a good story that they decided to animate it still amazes me like it just goes to show that you dont need to be an incredible artist to showcase ideas and for people to be engaged.
Its heavily agreed upon that the show depicts autism and? adhd well with Mob's 100% . I cant say how much is true or false but i think its an interesting topic of discussion/ I can see how thats plausible esp with how he 'cant read the mood', can get overwhelmed and have outbursts, and other things!
Regardless, its nice seeing a protag that isnt headstrong, vengeful, or really 'all that special' (theres plenty that show it but i just think Mob is neat :']). I love Reigens character so much, he's just some guy in his 20s, trying to figure his life out and it's pretty relatable. His relationship with Mob is really sweet. w/o spoiling anything...Mob still believes in Reigen and it isn't a pity thing that Reigens usually used to and it makes me 😩♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
