"Oh.. I don't know if this is late, but.. here you go." It's probably not much, but it's some copies of his favorite manga, ones he figured that Ritsu might enjoy. "Didn't really know what to get you, so take some good manga. Happy birthday." ( traiinedhard )
For him ?
Fingers fidget at his sides before he reaches out to grasp the books with an uncertain pinch to his visage. They weren’t particularly close — their interactions few and short when Genos wasn’t around — but he respected the man who his teacher dutifully followed, and who had saved him once before.
The series is unfamiliar, but he only reads what his brother reads ( they spent their allowances on different things and benefited equally ), so they’d both have something to look over. Given his knowledge of the heroes expenditures, there’s no way to tell if they’re new or taken from his own collection, but that only makes the gift more heartfelt. He’d gone out of his way to ensure Ritsu got something.
They slot perfectly into the book bag he received from Genos the day before and he smiles absently ; tenderly.
❝ I haven’t read these before. Thank you, Saitama-san. I’ll take good care of them. ❞
