another apparition

charlie gives halloween another when she shows up at the party dressed up as yet another spiderman character. this time around though, it's as cindy moon, silk, not the most well-known perhaps, but that really doesn't matter. she still arrived there, clad in the perfect replica of silk's suit. the young girl didn't have to wear a full mask like the last time, just a red bandana around the lower half of her face. but it proved difficult to have a decent conversation, or be able to eat comfortably, so she ended up pulling it down and only putting it back in place for pictures.
she was surprisingly enjoying the celebration. it was better than most of the halloween parties she used to attend in l.a., fancier is a better term to describe it actually. there was no tacky orange or red cups being passed around, soda or juice as they insisted, but reeked of alcohol. but she didn't go to those parties for those, she goes because of her friends. she went to avoid hurting their feeling, that and they always did group costumes. not that anybody noticed her. halloween was the only time of year she didn't feel bad about being treated like a ghost.
looking around, charlie realized that her company was lost somewhere around the place. she takes a good look around her and finds herself amidst people she only ever saw in passing during training. the young girl smiled whenever someone recognized her. she even made an effort to make small talk -- costumes always paved way for a conversation so it was easier to do it there. then, she finds herself bumping into a familiar face, one who she didn't hesitate to offer a small smile, "oh hey, it's you... nice costume."
