it’s been a while since his feet touched the streets of mount phoenix again, his current absence having been longer than most of those that came before, but then there had been plenty of interesting things going on during this visit of his to the outside world. and truth be told, he’d had too much fun this time around just to abandon it all and return to the island.
of course every one of his visits is cut short eventually. as they say; all good things come to an end, and tohil finds this out time after time. not in the way most people mean the idiom, though, he doesn’t consider it a bad thing. change is good, better than being stuck in the same place for eternity, no matter how good of a place it is. he likes the change of scenery, the shift in surroundings, the everchanging patterns of life.
but then he also likes returning to familiarity, to the place he’s called home for centuries now and where some of his favourite people reside. he likes to return to these familiar faces and see what they have been up to in his absence, make sure that they’re still doing alright.
one of such faces, the most important one he might even say, is the girl occasionally spending her time working at the book store, but the majority of her time studying away. and as he sets himself on a course, it’s her it leads towards, finding her wherever she might be residing in the current moment.
and nothing stops him from walking right up to her - uncaring of the place or the people nearby - and holding up his hand in front of her, palm upwards, to make a little fire-deer appear in it, skipping around over the top of his palm in a small but beautiful display of nature.
he doesn’t speak a greeting aloud, simply keeps his gaze levelled on jiyeon’s face, a smile playing around his lips while he waits for her to notice the fiery animal first and, hopefully, him next.
