Quite Entertaining

continuation from here, for @mploren

The Flower Mill was one of Yeji's favourite places to spend time, from the smell of coffee in the air to the beautiful flowers filling the place of color, it was truly a pleasant place to be whenever she'd be free between her work shifts. The man behind the counter was someone Yeji hadn't spoken to before, but he had a likeable demeanour, friendly and his smile felt genuine. The stain at the top of the room seemed to go unnoticed to other clients, so it was natural to a curious fox to ask about it.

His words intrigued her even more and her ears twitched with the spark of interest from Yeji. "I'm trying to imagine how would you be able to get it up there, but I'm failing big time over here." She held her coffee milkshake, the only she was able to take the taste of coffee, with both hands and leaned on the counter where the male stood behind of, taking a sip from the straw while her eyes focused on him. "You have my curiosity!"

Yeji was a cheerful girl, always keen on making friendships whenever a smile was drawn at her and this man seemed nice, at least for now. Being in a place he works helps her to be more comfortable too, assuming it was unlikely he'd talk rudely to customers or prank them in any way. "But what if I don't find it funny? Will I get a free cupcake?" Her words were nothing but a joke, trying to follow her witty now that she felt comfortable to show it.

Was he on something? It'd been his second night out in a row he'd gotten the offer and while he wouldn't complain about free drinks, he found it rather curious. Did he piss off someone? Did he please anyone? What a mystery this was, free drinks - maybe people were just nicer in the island than in the outside world? He was at a different place, too. Either way, he turned to look at the owner of the proposal and grinned, gesturing for him to take a seat beside him if he so wanted.

A free drink was always a compliment to him, and being the sin lover he was, he couldn't refuse. He'd had a few glasses of scotch on his own, but he could hold his own and one more drink was never a bad thing, right?

"Well, I can't say no to a free drink. Should I open a tab?"

Theo had known that he wanted to get a dog when he arrived in Mount Phoenix. He had wanted one for a while, and now seemed like the right time. After all, he did not know a lot of people on the island, so it would be nice to have someone to help keep him company. But, he was a little hesitant about it. He had -perhaps slightly unrealistic- hopes that he could get a pup that could be trained well enough to come to work with him. After all, firehouses sometimes had dogs, right? And he was technically based at the firehouse, even if he split his time between there and the hospital...

The solution to his dilemma came in the form of an old face. When he spotted Loren walking down the street toward him, he nearly yelled the man’s name, a big grin spreading across his face. It had been a while since he last saw the other male, but from their time helping out with an adoption event in Seoul, he remembered that Loren was really good with dogs. Scarily good with them. Which was maybe part of the reason he was on a demigod island.

“Loren, dude, I’m so happy to see you! I have an emergency and I really need your help!”

" so, um... i might have possibly accidentally tipped the entire jar of cayenne pepper into the soup... and by might have, i mean definitely. "

Her eyes widened, “Well, shit this is going to be some fiery soup.” Part of her wanted to figure out how to fix the blunder, but another just wanted to cackle with laughter - the kitchen air was filling up with such a peppery fragrance that her nose was tingling. “Do we add water? Milk?” she laughed, before breaking into a sneeze, “Or just open a window maybe.”
