SHOW PREVIEW: Young the Giant at Merriweather Post Pavilion
Young the Giant is one of those bands that, whether they're playing the smallest room or the largest arena, they fill the whole space, sending off energy and talent from the stage. From the time they released their self-titled debut in 2010 to their most recent release, Home of the Strange, Young the Giant has always impressed me with their clever songwriting, ever-evolving sound, and electric live shows. I've had the pleasure of seeing Young the Giant play twice at the Club, and each time was completely floored by their magnetic stage presence and lead singer Sameer Gadhia's mind-blowing voice.
Home of the Strange contains some of the band's best work, with rad pump-up tracks like "Silvertongue" and smooth, smart songs like “Amerika." Add in hits like "My Body" and "Mind Over Matter" and it's guaranteed that Young the Giant is going to put on a killer show later this year. And, knowing Young the Giant's incredible ability to command a stage and Gadhia's larger-than-life voice, I couldn't be more excited to see them completely own Merriweather Post Pavilion this September. Oh, and don't forget your dancing shoes, because I guarantee you'll be shimmying all night.
Get tickets here for Young the Giant with Cold War Kids and Joywave at Merriweather Post Pavilion on September 16.
