for @mpxlucas continued from here:
Lucas was feeling awkward and out of place as he stood with a drink in hand on the edge of the dance floor. He saw a few familiar faces but most of them had come with dates or were enjoying the company of others so he just stayed off to the side. Not wanting to intrude or interrupt any of his friends as they enjoyed their evenings. The last thing he wanted to for them to think he needed help, he was just a little overwhelmed with everything. He kind of wished Jasmine had been a little bit older, maybe he could have brought her with him. She would have loved to see everyone all dressed up. Too bad for now, she was just too little.
He was amusedly watching a tipsy couple stumble around the dance floor when he felt someone wind their arms around him. He looked down and the shorter guy and let out an amused but uncomfortable chuckle as he was obviously being mistaken for someone else. Luke couldn’t help but let out a laugh as the stranger lifted their head and they made eye contact. The older man wished he could have taken a picture at that exact moment as the younger guy’s expression was hilarious. Luke reached and patted him on the shoulder before speaking up, hoping to ease him a bit as he seemed quite surprised.
Not wanting him to be embarrassed he gave him a warm smile, hoping to convey that there was no harm done.
“I mean, I’m glad you’re having nice night kiddo, but I don’t even know your name. But- if you let me finish this beer I can help you find which hyung you’re actually looking for.”
the man who is most definitely not the one he’d expected to see, seems to not mind all too much that he has been mistaken, for he’s laughing lightly and then patting han’s shoulder. that isn’t something you do when you think some annoying prick is touching you against your will, right? so han just goes right ahead and assumes the man doesn’t mind, happily beaming up a smile at this new acquaintance he just so happened to make when he is smiled at and nodding his head at this hyung’s words.
“my name is han,” he instantly chimes when the unknown status of said name is mentioned, more than a little enthusiastic at the entire situation. he likes making new friends, after all, and another handsome hyung never hurt to have. “i don’t necessarily need to find another hyung when i found you, hyung!” he beams another happy grin and then glances at the beer to see how much of it still needs to be finished before his new friend is free to do stuff with him.
“i’ll wait for you to finish this beer and then you can dance with me!” he’s entirely on board with this idea now, and so he decides to keep rolling with it. “this hyung or that hyung doesn’t make that much of a difference.” he leans in a little then and grins, eyes fixing boldly on the man’s face. “you’re more impressive than the other hyung anyway,” he faux-whispers as he does so, before laughing in delight at the silly joke.
