❛ you shouldn’t be out here by yourself. ❜
His brows knit together in concentration, and he blinked a few times in an attempt to get his eyes to focus again. Maybe the last two shots were too much. But the girls who offered them to him were really friendly and enthusiastic about him drinking with them. His expression contorted into a grimace for a moment while his insides contemplated whether it was time to expel everything inside of him. Only when they apparently decided against it did his features relax. Gods, time moved so slow and yet everything happened all at once. For just a second, he closed his eyes before quickly opening them again when he felt himself swaying for no reason.
The voice, unfamiliar but somewhat soothing, managed to briefly snap him out of his drunken haze. Though it returned shortly after, when Alexander turned around a little too fast for his brain to comprehend, and he started stumbling back a bit. With more effort than he’d care to remember, he caught his balance with a step back before he offered her a smile.
“I’m not.” his voice sounded cheerful and triumphant, but his words were slurred. As if he proved her wrong just with that statement alone. “I’m not by myself.” It took him a moment to realize that he said the both parts in his native tongue, before he quickly repeated it in the appropriate language.
“You’re here!” With a motion that traditionally accompanied the words ‘Ta-da!’ which made him sway some more, Alex flashed her a dashing smile. Though, it was quickly replaced by pure confusion and a questioning look when he spoke up again. “Right?”
In an attempt to answer his own question, he squinted to make sure she was actually there and not some kind of illusion or trick. No, he was pretty sure she was real. Whoever she was.
