it’s quiet outside, the way she likes it when out on a walk. taking her time to look around, to really feel one with nature again. the best places to do that are in the forest or the mountains, because that’s where the least of the demigods venture. other gods sometimes do, but most of them she’s alright with, and the few she’s not okay with tend to stay far enough away from her.

it’s that time of the year when she ventures out to go harvest some of the herbs that she simply can’t grow in her garden because they thrive much better in natural surroundings. the forest has many of them, luckily, but also quite a few dangers, and so she tends to be cautious. of course her ability warns her of creatures coming nearby before they make it to her, and usually once they come close enough they decide to leave her alone. she’s got a basket full of herbs, after all, and not all of them are harmless.

yet this time around her attention is suddenly pulled when an unusual lifeform comes into her awareness. demigods don’t often venture into the forest, after all, mainly because they know how dangerous it is for them. the council makes sure everyone gets the explanation loud and clear so no one accidentally stumbles inside. which means either this one is here on purpose or they got lost somewhere along the way and the forest’s magic drew them in.

she decides that she might as well go and check it out. they’re heading somewhat in her direction, after all, so she thinks if she just keeps walking they’ll come across each other soon enough. yet what she comes across first, it turns out, is the crunching sound of her stepping on what she’s pretty sure is bone, and when she glances down, she finds little finger bones strewn all around. a few cautious steps take her to the edge of a downward slope and then she’s gazing down at what she can only name a mass grave.

two moments later, the bushes on her right side part to reveal the demigod she’d felt approaching, and then they’re both standing at the edge of a slope with hundreds of skeletons at its bottom. “good afternoon,” she tells the demigod. “i was going to ask if you’re aware you’re in a very dangerous forest, but i’m pretty sure that message was just displayed to you loud and clear.”

there’s an endless road to rediscover

it’s been a good while since he was last at the police office, talking to one of the officers about the possible threat to his friend’s safety. it had been just a conversation or two with the older man and then the one in front of the police station when he’d taken a little ride around town in the man’s car, but it had been enough to endear han fully and totally towards his newest in a steadily growing collection of hyungs.

which means that today he’s out with a box of home-made dog treats in hand on his way to the police office again. the officer’s dog had been the only thing they’d seemed to agree on completely in that it was the most fluffy and adorable creature han had ever come across - as every dog was - and the man had smiled a little when he’d complimented it. and that is all the connection he needs, isn’t it?

he hasn’t made an appointment or called in advance or anything of the sort. he’s lucky enough that if he shows up at the police office with the clear intent to meet this man, he will most definitely be around. and so he shows up at the front desk, asking about the police officer whose dog’s name is storm and could he please have ten minutes of the man’s time, thank you?

he’s, of course, polite and adorable enough for the lady behind the desk to instantly smile at him and tell him to wait just a minute and she’ll call officer min over. so he walks back to the chairs pointed out to him and takes a seat for a bit, waiting.

it’s been a while now that he’s been working together with the young police offer on the case he’s been investigating ever since he figured out about the strange events happening to jennie ( @mpxjennie ). at first he’d not known what to do, but after asking his forgotten friend meng po ( @mpmengpo ) to stake out the girl’s place and see if something was off, he eventually managed to figure out that it was possible one of the other egyptians was the cause. and he shouldn’t have been surprised, should he, that it turned out to be a son of set. who other would be able to play such tricks on people? 

but of course with just speculation and hearsay he wasn’t going to make a proper case with the council. he hadn’t even fully notified them of the issue yet, because if the set kid was indeed a mind reader, he wasn’t even sure whose minds were safe. the more people knew, the more people could possibly tip the demigod off that an investigation was underway. and so osiris had simply recruited a young but highly praised police officer and together they had started to try and cautiously ask questions about people’s behaviour and possible strange events happening to others.

of course they couldn’t straight out ask anyone if they thought the egyptian demigod lee jordan had been close to them lately and if they then experienced strange thoughts or did weird things, because that would definitely ruin their chances of ever catching him. and though osiris was very much inclined to follow yoongi’s initial suggestion of just shooting the guy before asking him questions, he did have to have some sort of proof before just randomly taking out mortals, even if they were of his own pantheon. especially since his issues with set were widely known.

and so they’d been asking questions as if simply concerned about people’s wellbeing due to a rise in unsolvable crimes or something other of the sort, and now they were sitting together in one of the offices at the police station, bent over their findings of the past couple of weeks. “he spends a lot of time with felix,” he tells the young man in a low voice, pulling closer one of the pizza boxes he brought over to open it up and take a piece of the nicely hot pizza, offering the box to yoongi next before placing it back.

“there’s some other people too. it’s hard to tell how much he affects them. i can’t ask anyone at the stop and paws about him because that would definitely cause suspicion, but i’m quite certain he can’t be up to many good things there either.” he sighs deeply because so much of this is still so uncertain. “did you find anything good?”

In the early mornings, Bora did a lot of the smaller tasks by herself, stocking,  taking inventory and any necessary paperwork. It was in these moments that she gave Siwoo a bit of freedom. She knew her staff would alert her to any issues, and he was smart enough to know he was not allowed the leave the premises. The little boy actually had opted to help his mother, grabbing a rag and wiping down what his little arms can reach. 

His important task, however, was suddenly inconsequential as a male entered the shop that reminded himself of someone his mother had shown him. “Big brother!” He nearly squeals at the top of his lungs, and he grabs onto Yoongi’s hand with both of his in the most tender of actions. “Momma! Come here!” He yells, and with all his tiny might, he tries pulling Yoongi toward the back of the shop.

The commotion brings Bora out to the front immediately, and she bounds the shop in nearly seconds. Despite her quick reaction, she is nearly brought to a standstill as she freezing upon sight of the older male. Bora is hit with a mixture of joy and suspense. A small gasp leaves her lips, and as if by nature, she reaches out to graze a hand across his cheek. “Yoongi.” She watches him for any sight of rejection, or worse, repulsion. She had left in such a way that she felt she deserved it. “Have you been well?”

Wife | Yoongi & Hades

If there’s one thing Hades has fully caught up with in the mortal world, it’s the modern depictions of himself. So it’s no surprise that when he sees sweet little Taemin show up dressed as him, he is more than a little excited. Not to mention the fact that Taemin’s husband comes dressed as his wife, which of course means Hades needs to go over and say hello. He lets Persephone know of his plans, then paces over to the pink haired youth.

It’s a little less elegant than usual, considering the large paws he’s got for hands and feet and the humongous fluffy head he’s sporting, but he puts an arm around Yoongi easily, takes a moment to browse the room and then turns to look at him. “Darling-” he starts, only to seemingly recoil in well-feigned surprise when it is not, in fact, his wife he’s holding on to.

“My apologies,” he says, tilting his head to the side a little to get a better view on Yoongi’s face through his Beast-shaped mask. He thinks the grin he’s sporting must be audible in his voice at this point. “I thought you were my wife.”

“Um, no?” What a strange question. Yoongi looked down at himself, wondering what had given her that impression, of all the possible impressions someone could get of him. He had never been mistake for a boyband member, that was certain. “Why did you ask me that? Do I strike you as a celebrity?” The very idea of that was laughable.

Was it the hair? He was pretty sure hair bleaching was not that uncommon these days, for celebrities or regular people. He had let Taemin talk him into wearing earrings too, but that wasn’t super bazaar, either.

“Explain.”

She pressed her lips together - perhaps it was his youthful, cute looks but the combination of it, the piercings and the dyed hair made him look more like a poppy boy band member than a real badass. Though Blair, with her baby face and multiple piercings, was perhaps not one to talk at all. “You don’t look like a celebrity,” she responded bluntly, rolling her eyes, “It’s nothing, you look fine.”

Usually, she would have some sort of snappy remark but she was a little soft when it came to the younger demigods. Blair had been here for a long time, after all, and somehow took it upon herself to look over the confused young ones - most of whom came from broken families or worse.

“Anyway, come on,” she buried her hands in the pockets of her jacket, “I’ll take you for lunch.”

“Am I not allowed to think of you as a genius?” she scoffs in mock offense, putting a hand to her chest just to be dramatic for the moment. Although the moment is short, expression quickly faltering into the neutral, calm one she typically wears before quirking a brow at his offer of topic.

“Serial killers? Mm..As mother of Phonoi and Androktasai, I would love to hear about serial killers. Whatcha’ got, my dear?”

No Big Deal

Jin feels like he’s going to piss himself. It's dark, and he's alone, except he's not alone, there's a man in front of him with a knife, and he knew was was a bad idea to go to the supermarket late at night with tear stained cheeks, but he was hungry, damnit, and now he’s backed into a corner carrying a plastic bag full or flour, chicken, and lettuce, and oh god now his vision’s getting blurry and he’s beginning to hyperventilate, the man is moving closer, and all Seokjin can do is let out a muffled whimper.

“You fucking fag, give me your money,” the man says, and Seokjin can only think I can’t heal myself well yet, and even if I give him my money he’ll still stab me, and don’t call me a f*g you uncultured swine it’s a really offensive term, and why can’t I fight I should carry a gun but no, that could get messy really quickly.

He almost passes out after tears roll down his cheeks for the umpteenth time today.
