 I so wished we had a scene with Mr. and Mrs. Barry talking about Diana going to Queens, since they were literally screaming in Diana’s face about how she is only good for a wife and that’s it, but then after a talk with Marilla *I fucking love her growth from season 1* , Mrs. Barry changed her mind. 

Mrs. Barry: “I’ve decided that Diana will go to Queens.”

Mr. Barry: “Umm, remember how we yelled at her and called our child ungrateful and that she was going to be a wife and that’s it?”

Mrs. Barry: “I’ve changed my mind. Marilla Cuthbert brought to my attention some good points.”

Mr. Barry: “...........................Ok”

Please tell tell me I wasn’t the only one who was pissed at Diana’s dad for giving mrs. Barry a hard time. I mean here’s a woman practically raised to be a wife, take the time to teach the kids what they would’ve learned in finishing school.

Clearly she had no idea what she was doing, but dang it she was doing her best. Seriously! And all mr Barry did was scoff at her efforts. Like um excuse me? Who was the one that got cheated out of his money? Money that could’ve been used for finishing school?

I didn’t see mr Barry supplying an alternative to this. But you know what? Props to mrs Barry for calmly and collectively talking things out with her husband and handling the situation in a mature fashion. As much as I would’ve loved to see her tell him off,I’m glad the conversation went the way it did and that they’re both on good terms. That they can settle things together as husband and wife.
