I could just picture Mr. Finkerton having this as the reception arera for his office:

So picture thou this scene at the legendary Philippe's in Beautiful Downtown LA over breakfast
MR, FINKERTON, head of the Finkerton Detective Agency, perousing a ham-and-cheese omlette and the legendary coffee, somewhat startled to see company at his table: Uh--if I may ask, what brought you to my table? A TOTAL STRANGER, essentially killing time between trains at the nearby Union Station considering the extended wait: My apologies, sir, for intrusion upon your sanctum; it seems most of the other tables are full at this time-- MR. FINKERTON: At any rate, I just thought it worthwhile to kill some time before heading to my offices ... and I understand the omlettes here aren't half bad, and the coffee rather delicious. What exactly are you having yourself? A TOTAL STRANGER: Bowl of oatmeal with cream and butter. You couldn't ask for anything better. MR, FINKERTON: I do have to acknowledge that running a detective agency does require considerable skill as much as discretion....
Seems the taste of Moxie reminded Mr. Finkerton of something from his childhood
MR. FINKERTON, head of the Finkerton Detective Agency, taking note of the peculiar taste of Moxie after sampling some: It just seems that Moxie's taste has just brought to mind the taste of Fletcher's Castoria for some reason or another ... INCH HIGH, PRIVATE EYE, in Mr. Finkerton's breast pocket: And who doesn't get similar ideas, anyway?
Inch High, Private Eye headcannon
Imagine, if you will, Mr. Finkerton, in his private penthouse at One Finkerton Square preparing a pot of decent espresso with one of those stovetop Moka espresso machines ... on a cook top stove, besides. Late at night (especially considering that espresso coffee beans have a darker roast, meaning quite a bit less caffeine).
(Oh, and did I mention that the espresso beans came from no less than Cattanooga Klatsche, Gatlinburg?)
And you wonder how many times Mr. Finkerton has had to find an all-night drugstore just to find some hangover remedy as wouldn't be embarrassing to especially the Finkerton Detective Agency's name and repute.
Meanwhile, at the Aldi
[Mise en scene: The coffee section, where we find no less than Mr. Finkerton coming across some German Roast Mild coffee, prompting this remark--]
"German Roast Mild"?! Will it be mild enough to actually settle the nerves of the head of a high-class detective agency?
