Yet Another Mr. Weebl Advent Calendar: Day 24

Looks like everything in this advent is getting wrapped up in a little bow. Here we have Mr. Weebl's take on The Night Before Christmas, which starts out with a reciting of the poem. When he goes over "not even a mouse" a mouse is seen dead. Then we get to the point where the children are sleeping and visions of sugar plums dance in their heads. This is where we get the sugar plums, which are just plums with Weebl's mouth on them, to dance in flat colored backgrounds. The short ends with Weebl saying it's a "bit weird". Thematically this short works as it talks about Christmas Eve, but the shortness makes it not stand out like the last two. Still, it's a fun little idea. Merry Christmas, everyone! And to all a good night!

Overall, I rate this Advent 21 nights out of 24!

Yet Another Mr. Weebl Advent Calendar: Day 23

Mr. Weebl gets a brilliant idea for his next video: put a hat on it! Wait, didn't we do this before? Oh, well. He instead does a Christmas rehash of "Cats Falling Out Of Jugs" but instead it's "Hats Falling Out Of Jugs". The psychedelic cyclical imagery of the original video is kept and it's still impressive as it was 2 years before. Sometimes the cats are in the shots, sometimes it's just the hats themselves, sometimes it's the cats wearing the hats (Dr. Seuss should sue) or it's the hats having cat faces (Cat Face should sue). Wait a minute... I'd recognize that reddish-pink bulbous head anywhere! Yes, it seems that The Baubles Entity has snuck into another video again, albeit trying to use subtlety. Despite this, his appearance only makes the video a little better. At the end, Weebl says the video is good and collapses into a drunken sleep. I agree.

I give this video 8 hats out of 10!

Yet Another Mr. Weebl Advent Calendar: Day 22

This video looks promising! Weebl seemingly has recorded his time at a festive German Christmas market! I guess they're an England thing. A tone-deaf song is sung about the wonders of the Christmas market including nuts, wiener-schnitzel and "fish planks close to a fire". But just as the song meanders to a second verse... oh no. The Baubles Entity is back! And this time he's wearing lederhosen! He somehow is able to sing his signature chorus completely in German. I guess he's that much more committed to the bit then Weebl is. While this could be great, the surprise is spoiled in the thumbnail and the title, which I wish it wasn't. Still the video itself is great, so no extra hangups there.

I give this video 10 German baubles out of 10!

Yet Another Mr. Weebl Advent Calendar: Day 21

This is the one we have all been waiting eagerly for. The video gives us many inspiring words about the subject as we are subject to a swirling crimson vortex of awe. A day in which the universe itself cannot help but look at the sky. Unbound by our mortal realm and its gravity, we finally see it, heralded by lighting and plasma from the heavens... DAY 21! OH, YES! WE HAVE MADE IT!

This deserves its rightful 21 out of 10.

Yet Another Mr. Weebl Advent Calendar: Day 20

Another jab at the nativity, I see Weebl likes to play with fire so much a burning bush would be natural for him to wield. This time it's about myrrh, where all the three Wise Men give baby Jesus myrrh, which the baby then decries as useless because it wouldn't help against being nailed to a cross (which is explained in the video as "spoilers"). When Jesus asks if they have anything else, one of the Magi says he brought frankincense which also gets decried. I always thought that the gifts were more symbolic than practical, but I guess some people don't feel that way. While the video is just animated faces on a painting, sometimes the faces can get a laugh and the dialogue is great with some great comedic timing. Something something Wordle sucks, I don't know. You people care that much about that game?

Yet Another Mr. Weebl Advent Calendar: Day 18

It's about time we get A Christmas Carol pastiche. Given we already got one for It's A Wonderful Life and a couple for The Snowman, Weebl finally gives another Christmas classic the middle finger, this metaphor being apt for this video's subject material. It starts at the ending scene of A Christmas Carol, you know, the one where Scrooge looks out his window and sees a boy that he throws money at. Here, instead of telling the boy to fetch a turkey, his orders to the child are "fetch me the biggest 4-pack of ale you can find, some tabs, some DIRTY ETCHINGS, AND THEN DO ONE, YOU NOISY LITTLE SHIT". He then closes the window. I'm sure a lot of this is how British people curse each other out, so props on being accurate to the location. Funnier still is that TomSka voices Scrooge, who in the Eddsworld web series has a running gag on how much he hates Christmas. So I guess it's good casting?

Yet Another Mr. Weebl Advent Calendar: Day 17

Weebl and Bob, one of Weebl's more long-running series gets a Christmas special. Weebl, the big one, starts singing "Rub My Baubles", but no signs of the Creature show in this video, meaning he's slowly gaining immunity from it. Bob, the small one, rolls over to Weebl and Weebl gets to show Bob his Christmas tree, which is actually a "cumbubber plant". And I thought Roald Dahl had the worst alternate British term for a cucumber in "snozzcumber". Bob is not impressed, and then shows Weebl his Christmas tree, one that puts his cucumber vine to shame. A nice setup and punchline, plus the unique way Weebl and Bob speak makes it a bit humorous. Nice and complete, like a good egg filled with yolk.

This video gets 9 cucumbers out of 10!

Yet Another Mr. Weebl Advent Calendar: Day 16

Remember the behind-the-scenes video Weebl did days ago when he was workshopping the song "Christmas on a Wednesday"? Well, it seems to be finished. Finished as in slightly below the bare essentials, but this has been a reoccurring joke for Weebl's advents that he sometimes gives up partly through. He doesn't even solidify his feeling on whether Christmas really will be on a Wednesday because he hasn't checked his calendar. Outside of the sound booth, two recorders are assuring themselves that the song will be a hit single. For that extra scene, I feel the short's comedy meter reached higher than usual. Still, pretty good for an intentional half-assing.
