Family meal I'm afraid, was not the one doing the cooking (though I DO need to cook with leeks more). Nothing fancy, I don't think? Just butter, a few herbs, citrus, and chicken broth. Side to chicken piccata not a whole meal.
tbh an issue I have with wholesome gaming as a self described genre is also how much it tends to just feel like reskinned misogynistic "soft girl gamer" culture. i usually see it used most often by people quietly (or not so quietly sometimes) condemning by comparison "soulslike games" or "fighting games" or whatever as some big monolith that's just oh-so difficult and jarring for the soft wholesome gamer to wrap their cozy little mind around, and a lot of the time the way that's done feels /reaaaallly/ gendered in a way I used to see more blatantly passed around in sexist gaming circles circa 2000's. and the same types of accounts then share memes about like "tfw ur BOYFRIEND is gaming and HE says things you don't understand on his annoying GAMERBRO call and you just want to play your animal crossing!!" or "when u say ur gaming and the hubby catches you PLAYING THE SIMS LOL". like i tend to enjoy a LOT of games in the so-called cozy genre, but I also like other video game genres too, and I get really icked by the popular communities associated with the former more often than the latter. it really feels a lot like gamers who want to distance themselves from the "ew toxic bad" identity of being a gamer, while still signalling to the world that they're Cool and Like Games Too and Aren't Like Other Non Gamer Girls (or whatever gender but I can't Not see it as gendered at its core).
yknow gt i think this is really interesting. i can't think of much to add but this is a really trenchant insight imo & there absolutely is a really strong gendered element to the classification

looks sweet. civ swapping is something i've wanted for ages, a bunch of pointless micromanagement is getting removed, dynamic districts have so many possibilities, art style is way better than 6, and they've finally gotten rid of 'barbarians'

the guy who did the tiktok is apparently tiktok famous for doing some incredibly ableist tiktoks where he plays a really nasty and mean-spirited caricature of an autistic kid. Sad!

ajj - the bible 2 (if that albums not familiar to u then do christmas island but i know we've talked abt that one before)
best song: terrifyer. it's so good. a lot of the album suffers from having been shoved into the vocal effects slop bath but but the vocals on terrifyer are great. just a perfectly good spiteful vicious aimlessly malicious little bastard of a song
my favourite song: goodbye oh goodbye speaks to me quite personally. very powerful song even if its been crunched up by a cruncher
least favourite song: golden eagle is the absolute worst parts of this albums audio gimmick and none of the good parts. sounds like im hearing it from inside a crumpled paper ball in my desk drawer.
most overrated: small red boy doesn't do as much for me as it seems to for a lot of AJJ fans. it's fine i guess.
most underrated: literally never heard anyone so much as mention american garbage but it's a standout for me tbh. something about it is just so plaintive.
banger: terrifyer. again. the guitar is having a good time
overall rating: 5/10. don't hate it but don't like it much either. a few good songs don't salvage the album's overall sound. AJJ is meant to sound like dogshit but not this kind of dogshit! would have been a 4 but calling your album 'the bible 2' is so audacious it gets a bonus point

joss whedon cast a magic spell to break millions of peoples brains forever in a variety of fun way by making a tv show about buffy. buffy is a cool girl who's, like, totally cool and stuff. with her friends willow, who everyone thinks she should have lezzed out with, xander, a sexy vampire, and angel, who had a spinoff show that everyone hated, she has to fight nasty guys and creeps and spooks and so on in a monster of the week format. also its the raeson tvtropes is written like that
