Peter Pan (2003) Deleted Scene: Mr. Darling lives in the dog house as a self-imposed "punishment"
"You're sure you're not? Enjoying it?" "I have worried about that, Mary, so I have taken steps to make it worse."
Jabs your eyes then skitters away
[Darling attempts to regain his composer, but it is far too late as the pain and rage causes his human form to unravel. A tangled mass of tendrils break through his vivisection wound and hand from his stomach as claws of perhaps fangs extend from the ends of his scar. His body flayed open, clothes torn. Shadow casting over his eyes as teeth and tongue distort. You probably shouldn't have done that... Darling will surely recover of course, it was less about the pain, more so about being caught so off guard, but regardless he staggers after you, crying in upset at the pain. (He also...might be a bit of a drama queen) ]
Hm…I think they have a lot of similarities...🤔
Hi!! I've read "I'll Never Meet Another You" (I absolutely love it btw) and saw your latest post about designing "You" and I noticed it said that we're supposed to be designed to have Wally's mother's eyes which got me thinking back to INMAY where he says he's glad that the reader is becoming a mother because he misses his own mom. It got me thinking - what exactly was Wally's mother like? It seems like her and Wally were close, is this true? What exactly was her relationship with Wally's father like? Did she really love Wally's father or was she more so trapped in the marriage? Was Wally's father abusive towards her? I ask this because in the fic it said that Wally's mom slept in a different room than his father and said that Wally and his mom just slept together in the same room but I didn't know if she slept in another room for strict religious reasons or if she just didn't wanna be left in a room alone with him... The detail noted of Home designing us with his mother's eyes got me wondering what she looks like too, does Wally look like her or more like his father? Sorry for all the questions lmao
Thank you! I'm glad you like it. Ask as many questions as you want.
Unfortunately with genetics we don't get to pick and choose who we look like. But in this case! We get to play around. Because Wally was born at Home, Home got to pick it's favorite features from it's original toys to make one all its own. Wally does have more of what his father looked like, only far more effeminate. One specific thing is mental health, the worst traits tend to be the ones passed on. Especially back then.
At some point I'll probably throw something down about when Wally was little-little. Unfortunately, that sort of situation was very common in the 50's. A lot of people slept in a different bed or even a different room entirely. I didn't make Mr. Darling abusive in the physical sense. Or not towards Wally at least. More along the lines of "blinded by need and greed", family fell by the wayside in favor of all the promises fed to him by God.
The only absolute truths Wally does remember about his own parents is that they didn't like each other (which is a reason he's desperate for you to like him). His mother took care of him and his father was scary at times.
(throw waco, joey drew and HP Lovecraft himself in a blender.) The unhealthy guy that pops out is Wally's dad.
For his mom? A hysterical, paranoid drinker/ pill popper. She herself is downright tragic. Maybe she tried to actually kill her son a few times, not that she could've ever got close. After all. She knew what she was going to give birth to.
I haven't gotten that far yet, only that Wally's mother had unhealthy coping mechanism that she passed on. When you know deep down your own children will never experience real life, you'd probably be depressed too. Everyone involved just making the best about a bad situation that's framed as prosperity.
So fun times all around! If I did design them, they'd probably just be scribbles for a long time. Until Wally can finally recall a face.
Edit.
Ah. I didn't answer the question again. Wally's parents did probably love each other at the start. But then whatever incident happened. Meeting God or either, the one failure that would push a man to push away love in favor of some nebulous thing.
It's probably best Wally doesn't know about all that. I'm sure it was very fun while it was happening for Home though. One does have to establish stakes for the original residence.
Random Mr. Darling drawing I have lmao
I'm thinking about making a AU on him smh. I have many ideas.
Fun fact: no one has seen mr. Darling eat! Anytime the puppets give him food, he always 'saves it for later'..he can't eat puppet food. He's a human. Most of that are props anyway :D
Wally’s father has come to visit.
Wally: “Dadda!!”
He comes running right into his dads arms. His dad has to bend down to scoop his only son up into a big hug. He lifts Wally completely off the ground and sways a little bit.
Wally’s dad: “oohhhhh I love you so much you little goofy weirdo. Your still so tiny!! Would grow already!?”
Wally: “but how will I crawl through old hallowed logs!!”
