#mr. hello

this week I got the rough mix of Mr. Hello done! the hardest part of that was the drum loop. I wanted to make a loop and mix it like a sample, instead of mixing all the drums individually, and it kept having a weird high end. eventually I got something I'm happy with though, just took a few tries

I was supposed to get done this week a few small revisions on a few of the other tracks, and then I'd just need vocals and guitar, but I got distracted by playing Pokopia lmao. it's so fun. Monday, I guess

programmed MIDI for Mr. Hello, the last song on the album! it's a song about instability. constantly having people exit and enter my life, always needing to say Hello to a new group of friends. fun!

once I played the keyboard part from this at a jam with my band, and the drummer interpreted it as a 6/8 and we jammed on those chords a few times in 6/8. funny how different people can hear those things differently, because Mr. Hello is in 4/4 all the way through. those chords are Am-C-Em7-E7.

now I can move on to mixing and vocals and stuff starting tomorrow! woohoo! first thing to do is bounce all of the midi stuff. easier to mix that way. then bus all the tracks appropriately
