I’m watching a drama called mr. honesty, where the male lead can’t and won’t tolerate lying because of some typical childhood trauma that I skipped over. so his secretary turnover rate is very high because the second he realizes someone is lying to him, even if it’s a white lie he’ll fire them. his business partner who CLEARLY liked him for a long time decides to hire the female lead to be his secretary. lo and behold they begin to fall in love, she flips shit and insists on firing her over nothing and keeps saying how she’s problematic but bitch? you hired her in the first place... If you wanted to lock this guy down then why would you hire a beautiful young woman to be his personal assistant? that don’t make no cents luv. you chose the cutest girl with the nicest personality out of all the potential candidates and now you’re like hold up.... this isn’t right. hire him a monkey butler or something.

I’ve fallen in love with this show, but ONLY because of this character. If it wasn’t for this character, their would be no drama. And their would be no “reality” of life. Fang and Yiren live in this “idealized love” where all the scenes feel sort of fake. I dont like it. But we have someone like Zhe, who is just broken. Every part of him is sad. He doesn’t think he deserves anything. He only smiles in scenes with Yiren, because he believes this is the girl who saved his life. While, his love is unrequited. He still cares for her as a friend. The way he is treated form everyone is horrible. Frankly, his assistant is the only one who treats him like a human at times. While I’m not done with the series, I will be doing a more in depth review when i finish.
Liu Hai Kuan also plays rhis character wonderfully. It really makes me want to see LHK in a lead role. While I loved him as LXC, and an excited for his next drama. I want to see him lead. He stole the show for me in this show. He went from happy, to teary eyed in seconds. He exudes the exhausted/depressed nature of Li Zhe.
