SCP-1504 (Joe Schemo) headcanons because there isn’t enough content about him and he deserves love

1. Survived the nuke (read his page and you’d understand), but radiation caused his right eye to be completely white.

2. Carries a gas mask around

3. Lives in a caravan.

4. If you can notice him and listen to him, he’d protect you forever.

5. Helped Mr. Mad to escape and now they live together in the caravan. They’re getting along pretty well.

6. Pansexual immortal boy

7. Binge watching OPM, TWD, Gotham and any horror movie.

8. Bearly sleeps due to nightmares and anxiety.

9. Hates any song with the name “Joe” in it. (We don’t need another “cotton eye joe” incident.)

11. Because the SCP can notice the birthmark on his shoulder, he got a shitload of tattoos so his birthmark would look like one of them and no one will suspect a thing.

Immortal grandpa is found

summary: Dr. Jack Bright was told by his grandmother that his grandfather died when he was six. When he found out it was a lie, he discovered that his grandpa was closer than he thought.

Sometimes immortality can be genetic. That’s something that Dr. Jack Bright has discovered recently. He knew about his own Immortality and used it in order to tease death many times (and to annoy his co-workers, some of the SCPs and probably his neighbors too.), but never truly thought about his family members.

When he was younger, Jack Bright was told by his grandmother that his grandfather passed away. Jack remembered just a little bit about his grandfather at this point- a young man with dark-brown hair and ocean blue eyes (For the record, Jack’s mother gave birth to him in young age). She claimed he died in a war or something like that. It was a long time ago, so Dr, Bright doesn’t remember much. He only remembers some blurry childhood memories, along with a tiny peek at the man’s look and his name- Joe. A long time passed since then, and Bright buried everything but a body.

That was at least until he decided to take a DNA test, and the doctors found a strange match. When Bright stared at the result papers, he never expected to see himself related to an uncontained SCP, especially one who caused an entire base to get nuked. When he searched through the foundation’s files, he finally got this SCP’s. 

SCP-1504: Joe Schemo.

Bright held the papers tight. His hands were shaking and his eyes teared up. He had to find him.

There are many theories about Joe’s whereabouts, so Bright decided to take some time off to go test these theories. The one who made sense the most was that he lives with another breached SCP, SCP-2428-1 (Also known as “Mr. Mad”, who has breached on  [REDACTED], and the two of them are in a town laying not so far from the remains of site [REDACTED]. 

Wearing casual clothes for the first time in forever, Bright walked down the streets of this small town, looking anywhere for any lead. And up there, next to the bar, he saw Mr. Mad. The blond man, wearing a trapper hat and bandages on his left eye, walked out of the bar and stopped as he noticed the doctor.

He blurted out a slur in Russian before he began to run. Bright chased after him, apologized to anyone he pushed out of his way. Mad was fast, but so was Bright.

Mad reached his caravan, ran over to the young man on the front lawn and held his hands tight.

“Joe, we gotta go.” Mad said. “One of the SCP guys is here... he saw me!”

That was when Bright reached over there as well, and Joe looked at him in a surprised look. He wasn’t surprised from fear, but rather... nostalgia.

“Jack?” Joe asked, walking over to the panting doctor.

Dr. Bright just looked at him, giving him a soft smile.

“How are you doing, grandpa?”

The three of them entered the caravan, where Jack saw another familiar figure running towards them. It was SCP-1424, Also known as “Patches”. The dog sniffed Jack’s leg, and his tail began to wiggle.

“Hey there, little guy!” Bright said, picking the puppy up hugging it. “Long time no see!”

“So you’ve met Patches, I assume.” Joe giggled.

“Used to walk the little guy around the base until everyone complained about ammonia poisoning.” Bright said.

“Man, these mortals are weird. Getting poisoned from a puppy.” Joe laughed. 

“Sorry to interrupt you two but...” Mad said, confused as hell. “What in Wodertainment’s name is going on in here?”

“Mad, remember when I told you that I had kids?” Joe asked.

“Yeah.” Mad answered. “And one of them gave birth early, right? Eve, i think?”

“Yup.” Joe said. 

“So... Dr. Bright is her son?” Mad asked.

“Yup.” Joe and Bright answered at the same time.

“Well, shit.” Mad laughed. “That explains a lot.”

“I’m afraid to ask what do you mean by that, babe.” Joe laughed.

“I’m gonna go grab some drinks.” Mad said. “You want some, Dr. Bright?”

“You can call me Jack, Mad.” Bright said. “And... sure. Why not?”

As Mad walked to the kitchen, Joe and Bright sat on the couch, with Patches laying on Jack’s laps.

“Grandma told me you died in a war.” Bright said.

“If there’s something I’ve learned from being Immortal is that you have to fake your own death before people would suspect,” Joe said. “You, your grandma, your uncle, your mom... sure, you’re all important to me, so I had to protect you from my secret.”

“Why would you protect us from your own immortality?” Jack asked, petting the dog who has already fallen asleep.

“There are many reasons, Jack.” Joe sighed. “I didn’t want anyone to hurt you. I didn’t want your life being ruined because of me.”

“You didn’t know I was immortal too?” Bright asked.

“Nope. Not really.” Joe said. “I was surprised when I heard Dr. Loyd talking about you back then.”

“Speaking of Dr. Loyd...” Bright began to ask. “Why have you breached?”

“You know my effects were slowly driving me crazy. When you’re being alive for so long... being IGNORED for so long... You lose your mind. So... the fact that you and Mad can listen to me calms me down.” Joe said. “And before you ask, the nuke wasn’t a part of the plan. Didn’t even know they can do this.”

“Every base can do that.” Bright said. “Why else I wouldn’t be allowed in the security office?”

The two of them laughed. 

After Mad came back with a few beer bottles, the three of them talked and laughed about this and that, gossiped about this person and that person... Bright truly felt like a part of a family. 

When he was about to leave, Joe asked him to wait a second.

“Look, I know you’re supposed to secure, contain, protect and shit, but uh...” Joe said. “Please don’t tell the foundation that we’re here. I know we’re not ‘normal’, Jack, but... We want to be treated like we are.”

Bright gave his grandpa a soft smile.

“Don’t worry. We’re family.” Bright said. “I won’t tell them shit.”

Joe pulled him into a hug.

“It was nice seeing you again, kiddo.” Joe said. “Sorry I wasn’t there for the most part of your life.”

“That’s okay, man. I enjoyed too.” Bright said. 

And at that moment, Bright knew his grandpa came back to his life.

One text message.

That’s all it took to get Joe out of his van and running stressed down the streets.

His brown hair was a mess and his heart was beating faster than the speed of light.  He didn’t care about the people staring at him. He didn’t even apologize whenever he pushed one. 

He kept staring at the screen, realizing he got two more messages from his beloved.

“Don’t fucking try to find me?” Joe mumbled to himself. “To hell with that.”

As e kept on running, he typed.

His legs began to ache, but he didn’t care. Hell, he didn’t even know where his boyfriend was but he kept on running.

It took Mad around three minutes to replay.

He doesn’t even know where the hell did Wondertainment come from. Fucking hell.

Well, Joe needed help at that moment. But who could probably know the whereabouts of that bastard?

Then, it hit him.

He closed the message app and dialed a number.

“Dude,” The voice on the other side answered with a yawn. “Do you even know what time it is?”

“Money, it’s not the fucking time to complain!” Joe said, almost yelling at the phone.”

“Wow, you sound panicked.” Money said. Joe could hear him sitting on the bed.

“Wondertainment kidnapped Mad, man!” Joe said. “Mad fucking texted me, he doesn’t know where he is, and I’m fucking terrified.”

Money went silent for a few seconds before speaking again.

“Where are you, Joe?” Money asked, this time in a cold serious tone. Joe never heard him speaking in that tone.

Joe told him where he was, and it took about five minutes for Money to get there in his green car.

“That was quick.” Joe said, trying to joke to hide his worries.

“Get in. I told the others, they’re on their way.” Money said.

“How do the others know where he is?” Joe asked.

“Told Hot, and if my theory is correct than Wondertainment might be where we think he is.” Money said. “Trust me, I know what it’s like to be kidnapped by Wondertainment. “

Joe sat at the passenger seat, staring at the screen quietly and waiting for Mad to send him anything. Giving him any sign that he’s... alive. He opened his mouth, willing to ask some of the questions he had on his mind, like “What if this is all a trap?” or “What if we’re too late?”, but the words couldn’t come out of his mouth.

Even when they have reached the place, Joe got no messages from Mad. Brass, Sweetie, Lost, Hot and Forgetful were watching the place.

“We made it early.” Sweetie said. “Wondertainment left the place a minute ago.”

“Wanted to shoot him, but Brass stopped me.” Hot said.

“You could’ve caused a goddamn scene, H!” Brass said.

Lost looked at Joe, who seemed on the edge of having a mental breakdown.

“How are you holding up?” Lost asked in a calm voice.

“How does it look like I’m holding up?” Joe asked in response. 

“Where are the rest?” Money asked.

“Moon and Hungry are too old for this, LD would die again, Shapey, Fish, and Headless haven’t slept in ages, Laugh is at the hospital...” Brass said. 

“Lie doesn’t want to go back here, Stripes sleeps deeper than all of us, Chameleon is inside, checking for security...” Sweetie continued. “Soap has therapy, Smiles is too young and Redd volunteered to babysit him.”

“So it’s just us?” Forgetful asked.

“And Joe.” Money said.

“Oh, hey, Joe!” Forgetful said, remembering that Joe is there. Joe wasn’t offended. He knew Forgetful would...Well, Forget.

After a few minutes of planning, they broke into the warehouse. Joe had one job- Grab Mad and get the fuck out of there. It was supposed to be a simple job for him, since he cannot be killed nor harmed. But... He was anxious as hell. He was scared of finding Mad’s dead body laying or the ground, or even worse- not finding him at all.

He was standing in front of a rusty metal door. Money told him this is where Wondertainment usually keeps his “prisoners”. Without even taking a deep breath, he launched at the door with all his might, knocking the damn thing down.

That’s when he saw him. The blonde man was sitting on the floor, looking down and pulling his trapper hat down to cover up his face. He had a bit of blood on his hand, and his phone, that laid next to him, had a broken screen.

“Mad!” Joe said as he ran to his boyfriend.

“Don’t look at me...” Mad sobbed.

“What did he do to you?” Joe asked, only to receive silence as an answer.

“Mad, what did this bastard do to you?” Joe asked again.

Joe lifted his hat a bit, but mad quickly covered his left side of the face with his hands before Joe could see something.

“Mad, please. You have no idea how worried I am.” Joe said, gently moving Mad’s hand.

The entire left side of Mad’s face was covered in long bleeding scratches, but most of the blood came from his eye. When Joe gently touched the area, that’s when he realized that Mad had no left eye at all.

“Mad, your eye...” Joe said.

“He... he tried to destroy me.” Mad said, looking into Joe’s eyes. “He mannaged to damage my face and pull my eye out, but I fought him.”

Joe cupped his cheek as Mad looked down.

“God, I probably look like shit, am I?” Mad asked.

“Nah, I think you’re beautiful.” Joe said, softly kissing his missing eye, causing Mad to blush.

“We should probably get out of here.” Mad said. “I mean, the others might be worried, and I assume you left Patches alone at home.”

Joe assisted Mad to get up and the two of them left the building, meeting with the other misters.

“At least it was just an eye.” Joe said on their way home.

“Does that mean I’m a pirate?” Mad asked, causing Joe to laugh.

“No. That only makes you half blind.”
