INSIGHT GALLERY: THE TRUE ORIGINS OF PIZZA(2012)
How does a Korean pizza chain break into the United States, where consumers already know a lot about pizza?
The answer, according to Addict Media Films, is to start a conspiracy.
Addict Media Films set out to convince people that pizza originates not in Italy but in Korea, and was stolen in the 13th century – just as spaghetti was in fact inspired by Chinese noodles.
The agency invented a fake historian, food expert, Buddhist scholar and archaeologist to tell the story of the ‘true’ origins of pizza, claiming one of Korea’s national treasures had been stolen.
The video created a furore, and attracted tonnes of media debate and even some demands for an apology from Italy.
Slowly but surely, people began to realise the debate was in fact an advertising campaign for Mr. Pizza. But in the process, Mr. Pizza earned over $2 million worth of unpaid media.
Watch the case study here in the AD STARS ‘Insight’ gallery, which contains all the work that’s been awarded at AD STARS since its inception in 2008.
Day 12! School, Mr. Pizza, Idols with the boys!
So today is Monday...
School again...ehhh
We decided to try Mr. Pizza a famous Korean pizza chain here....
Here we go and we went with the boys heheh
It was okay, first time my pizza had corn, carrots, and onions all in one slice...I think its okay, but not worth the price
this was 16,900 for a regular! nope! unacceptable for my $5 pizza back at home :( and meat! and meat!
Oh well, then we decided to back to the entertainment companies, because one of my friends hadn't taken pictures.
The boys tagged along as well because they wanted to see some kpop stars.
new boy bands :D
I got to see some idols
Miss A: Fei, 2AM: Jo Kwon, 15 &: Jimin, 2PM Taecyeon :D
basically all JYP artists mostly who i was standing in front...still no SM idols :( maybe one day!
It was hilarious to have the boys there with us to look out for idols! Explaining to them who they were and why there were famous showed me how much I know about kpop....too much...hehe
Also today was the first time a saesang fan told me not to take pictures of them :( scary shit...oh well we are foreigners never gonna see us again!
Then we headed back home before the subway closed :D
