I was too lazy to get up this morning to run, I can’t run tonight because of plans. This means I have to run when I get off work during the hottest part of the day. I may die…or melt like Nazis in an Indiana Jones movie. I’ll sign your petition! Huzzah, two signatures already! Those late afternoon runs are killer, I hope it goes as well as running in a convection oven/sauna can!

Sorry to hear that you aren't going to be able to run your race. I think you're definitely doing the right thing though. Better to wait and race healthy than to run injured and risk further injury. I hope you get healthy soon!

I felt kind of bad for not risking it and just powering through the race, but seeing your comment helped cement the decision not to run. Thanks!

If you can get past the whole being cold thing ('cuz honestly, the first few minutes of winter runs are always miserable) then winter running is fantastic. I have a pair of Yak Traks that work very well on both snow and ice and would highly recommend those if you're going to be running outside. Running while it's snowing makes you feel like you're flying or in warp drive too, so there's that.

I'm sure that hair brings ALL the boys to the yard! Do you have to beat them off with a stick? On the real though, you need to stop being injured all the time, it's seriously bumming me out. Are you pool running too?

I'm not injured aaaaall the time. I'm just super paranoid about every time something hurts. Like my ankles. Or that time I was 100% convinced I had a stress fracture. Or pre-tumblr when I whipped myself into a frenzy and was sure that I had torn my meniscus (didn't, just a case of runners' knee).

Right now, I'm just talking recovery slow and making sure I'm good to go before running like crazy again. I've been regular swimming and hitting the bike a lot. It's actually kind of nice to do something different and relaxing. But I'm going on a little run tomorrow!
