Bro, okay, I'm sorry for asking you but wtf is the drama with amish kapoor and the other guy (Stuart?)?

There’s a fued between Anish Kapoor and Stuart Semple that started apparently a couple years ago when Anish Kapoor made a deal with the developer of Vantablack (the world’s blackest black) that only he could ever use the pigment (to create art with I assume, I forgot the details, something that only businesses with the right amount of papers and money could maybe use it too, but not other artists or whatever other experimenters out there).

Stuart Semple (an artist also known for using bright ass colours, always on the lookout for strong pigments) was like ‘wtf is this kind of selfish bullshit’ and decided to create the worlds Pinkest Pink, available to anyone BUT Anish Kapoor or anyone affiliated with him.

A couple days later came a tweet from Anish Kapoor, his middle finger dipped in the world’s Pinkest Pink…

I kinda forgot Semple’s response but he is making other colours and has also developed the world’s glitteriest glitter (made of actual glass shards) with the same rule set, everyone can buy it unless you’re Anish Kapoor or assiociated with Anish Kapoor.

It’s the best thing that happened in the art world imo and I honestly feel alive being a witness to this real life art history in the making.

Book(s) I’m currently reading: I'm reading De Aanslag in graphic novel format, it's really good. I also have 2 comics from Tillie Walden lying around which I still have to read but will after I finish De Aanslag.

Yeah i hope so too, doctor said it could take 3 months, longer if i try to continue working.. which im making sure I don’t do. Unfortunately that means i can’t finish my third year so i’m probs gonna be even longer in school than anticipated.. thank you for your kind words 😌
