Couch To 5K: Day 1
I didn't do the entire 20 minutes. I did about 13 minutes, realized I was getting close to my house, felt really really tired, and decided to stop.
However, this is still a huge accomplishment for me, considering that the past few months, I've been the least active I think I've ever been.
It wasn't too bad at the beginning, although I could feel my calves tightening up at first. What got me during the intervals were the burning sensation in my lungs, and the outside edges of my feet hurting. I felt like I'd been walking for a half hour after only 5 minutes of intervals.
I did stretch afterwards, and now I just have a well-used feeling in my muscles.
For this first week, I think I'm going to go for only 15 minutes. I need to work up to 20.
Also, I'm going to be riding my bike if the weather stays clear (it feels like spring outside, and it's the beginning of January!), and my dance and drama classes start on Monday, and dance is twice a week, so that'll be a mandatory hour of exercise. Plus we have Zumba now.
I forgot that I like how I feel after my heart rate's slowed down a bit and breathing becomes easy again, and how my muscles feel after actually working.
But now I remember, and I'll just have to keep it in mind every single day.
