Hey guys, first of all I wanna thank you for the relevant information, it's really helpful for knowing what's coming this fall. In reference to the last ask you answered about girl's/women's fashion, I was wondering if you had any tips for guy's fashion; about how much to bring, the Nashville climate, etc. Thanks (:
Boys fashion at Vandy is a little less homogenous than it is for girls. I, of course, condone repping your own personal style, but here are some things you might want to keep in mind:
The first few months of school will be crazy hot, so make sure you have summery clothes. Pastels and boat shoes are not out of place on Vanderbilt men during the summer months, and the general vibe will be very preppy. Also, everyone dresses extra nice for like the first two weeks after move in. Just be prepared.
It rains all the time, so investing in a rain jacket and some sort of rain/duck boots would be very wise.
While the weather is fairly mild in the fall, it does in fact get quite cold closer to winter. Do not be fooled into thinking you are safe from the cold because you are in the South! Warm winter clothes are highly recommended. Once again, preppy is a crowd favorite, but don't be afraid do venture into alternative territory.
Also, bring dress up clothes. Trust me, you will be expected to dress up more often than you might think throughout the semester. I would recommend bringing several dress shirts, dress pants, a suit (if you have it), a couple of ties, a nice belt (double sided belts are great!), nice socks, and nice shoes.
