It just kind of slipped out, something about the buzz of the pub, the soft light and smoky atmosphere. Not that he hadn’t wanted to say it before, but this one just got past his filter. He had to own it though, he was done being ashamed of himself and the things he wanted. It was a tough battle but he was winning a little more everyday.
He rolled his eyes as he sipped his beer, “I’m not askin for your hand,” he shook his head. “Yes, you, shouldn’t take a world class detective to figure that out, but-“ he gave a shrug and a teasing smil.

Colin rolled his eyes when Ray answered him. Of course that would be something for him to say and he would not get hitched, at all... never in his life. He had seen too much going wrong for that to ever happen. But Ray... he had been there for so long. Been his best friend for so long.
“Ok...” Colin began as he leaned in so that he could look Ray in the eyes. Not a sign of drunkenness so he could rule that out too. “Promise me that nothing will change.” The detective told the other seriously. “I don’t want to loose my best friend over a stupid kiss or a night of great sex.”
