It was to be their last night at Oglethorpe’s plantation. After hearing Thomas talk about the man’s open-mindedness and inclinations towards kindness James hoped he would be able to negotiate with him. If not, he was fully prepared to unleash Captain Flint one last time.

Those thoughts and others swirled around his head that night, preventing him from sleeping. Thomas slept in the small bed next to him. There were other bunks in the room as well. James had managed a few more kisses around the other workers but after the emotion of their initial reunion he had found himself uncomfortable again.

Thomas had done his best to reassure him, but also telling him he understood. After all, ten years of heart ache because of their love was not easy to overcome.

Now James watched Thomas’s sleeping form only a couple of feet next to him and longed very badly to reach over and touch him. Not a hand on the shoulder or something friendly; he wanted to touch him. Anywhere really, just so that Thomas knew.

Thomas rose unexpectedly from the bed and sat on its edge. His eyes were wide and James saw he had not been sleeping after all.

“Come here,” he said quietly, patting the mattress next to him.

James hesitated. But then he rose and sat himself next to Thomas. Thomas was looking at him with the same unbridled joy he had that day in the field. Where once he had been forced to restrain himself he now smiled easily at James and James had found himself helpless before the bliss that threatened to overwhelm him and he smiled back.

Then Thomas leaned in until his lips grazed James’s ear and said “No shame.”

Those lips pressed against his neck. Thomas’s hand had slipped to the front of his open shirt. James shivered all over at the contact. This was Thomas reminding him it was okay. It was okay.

He repeated the phrase in his head.

“I still want you,” whispered Thomas. “And I know you want me too.”

James let out a whimper. He kissed Thomas fiercely on the mouth. They kissed and touched here and there, skin gliding tenderly and curiously along skin, before lying down, their breathing a little heavy as Thomas curled up on his side, head on James’s chest.

James’s skin tingled all over from Thomas’s touches. He was mildly aroused but mostly just happy. He imagined the two of them living out whatever life they could, happy and truly free for the first time ever. It would be difficult but he had no doubt it would work.

He fell asleep, breathing in the scent of sunshine.

10. Do you ship any characters that have never met?I guess the only one would be the ot4 Silver/Flint/Thomas/Madi, because Madi&Silver have never met Thomas. 

20. Talk about a ship you feel alone in shipping.I don’t think I have one, since Tumblr pretty much offers shippers of literally anything. But I think the one I haven’t found many of is Zude (ZeroxJude) from Hit The Floor - which I don’t think a lot of people watch in general.

30. Name a couple of fandoms in which you have no ships.Hm, this is hard, since I tend to find a ship anywhere lol I’m not big on any ships in Riverdale. Then American Horror Story and A Series of Unfortunate Events, I guess.

40. If you could change one thing about your OTP, what would that be?I’ll go with Sterek and say that I do not necessarily wish they’d become canon, but I do wish they had more scenes together, especially in later seasons.
