"CANNIBAL CREATURES"
Did this for someone on my tic tok I hope they like it and yes ofc it's TCM
Could you do some of your own personal headcanons about Bubba? I'm curious about how you interpret him/portray him! Ty!
Of course I can!!
Bubba Sawyer Headcanons!!
I headcanon Bubba as genderfluid, so I will be using they/them pronouns!!
Bubba has had a pretty hard life so far. They have to deal with their brothers, hunting, taking the feminine role of the family, etc. They try their best to help around the house and contribute to the family, but it's never enough. They feel kind of bad because they feel like they're a burden to the family, never having to be left alone due to their disabilities and their emotional outbursts whenever things go wrong because of their level 3 autism. They have a hard time speaking as well, so that only makes things worse. Their brothers can understand them for the most part, but sometimes it's hard to understand them when they're going through a meltdown. It really takes a toll on them whenever their brothers yell at them during a meltdown, and they have no one to talk to during it who will actually understand and be kind. Drayton tries sometimes to be calm and collected, but it's so hard whenever his brothers are causing chaos in the middle of trying to help Bubba
Taking on the feminine role was pretty hard on Bubba as well. They would put on their mask of human skin, put on makeup, poorly at that, and go down to help with the dishes or anything that their brothers needed help with. Even though they feel like they can't do anything right, they still try their best not to freak out and be self-destructive anytime they do something wrong, even if it was minor. They do feel a sense of comfort in playing the feminine role, however. It feels like they're almost fragile, delicate like a porcelain doll. Even though they definitely weren't, it was nice to think about sometimes. They were pretty big, not to mention really strong, but sometimes it was nice to think that they were small and delicate to the touch. Sometimes they would even get stuck in the daydream of being a pretty woman, having maladaptive daydreams constantly of how they could change themselves, whether it was gender-wise or just in general
Despite the fact that they want to be feminine, sometimes it was nice to be masculine as well. Feeling pride as a man, feeling comfortable in their own skin. They loved being all genders, not being able to pick just one they want to identify as; however, sometimes it was nice to feel like a big, strong man having to carry a 200-pound body home. They were so proud of themself whenever they would get a compliment from their brothers, telling them how they did a good job on getting a bigger body or the right kind of meat. Bubba was the most violent of the family, however. They could kill anyone in a heartbeat if it meant protecting their house and the family. For example, when the Hardesty siblings and their friends showed up at the house, all they could think was, "Where the hell are these people coming from??" They didn't know what to do, so they did all they knew. Kill. That's all that they were raised to do: kill and contribute to the family. It could be a bit scary for them, however. Sometimes people would scream or struggle too much, overwhelming Bubba a bit
Despite being the most violent, they were also the most frightened of the family. Sure, they were the biggest, but they were also kind of a softie. For example, they didn't want to kill Stretch, but it made them a little scared when she yelled at them, telling them that it wasn't going to work out. Bubba doesn't know how to express their feelings very well, so all Bubba could do was use force. They have a huge fear of rejection due to their autism, making them spiral and freak out. Nubbins would call Bubba dramatic, telling them there was nothing to freak out about and that they were a big baby. They didn't like that one bit. Bubba didn't like being called a baby. They were strong and vicious, not something that should be messed with. Sure, Bubba liked having innocence that was never exactly there throughout their childhood, but they were still a killer nonetheless. Even though Bubba was a murderer, however, they still craved that love and affection from others; even if it was from a victim (which never happened)
Bubba definitely age-regresses. Not having a binky or a diaper like the stereotypes, but acting childishly and showing childlike innocence and wonder. It was a comfort thing for them to fantasize about having a mother-like or even father-like figure in their life. They daydream all the time to the point where it affects real life. They could be so stuck in a fantasy that they get upset when they aren't treated the way they want to. Drayton was the closest thing to a father figure, even though he sucked at it. Drayton still tries to help Bubba sometimes, reassuring them that they did nothing wrong and that everything was ok. Chop Top was better at cheering up Bubba because of his chaotic and enthusiastic energy. Bubba couldn't help but radiate his energy back, showing their excitement by letting out little groans and squeals of joy. Chop Top had frequent mood swings, not being able to stay mad at Bubba for too long. For example, when Bubba came out of the record vault to attack Stretch, hitting Chop Top's metal plate. It made them feel good when he gave them that high five, though
Physical touch was very important to Bubba. If they were to have a partner, it could be anybody, as long as they had a hand to squeeze or a hug to give whenever they were upset. Bubba didn't really care about gender, however. They had bigger problems than choosing which gender they liked the most. If Bubba had a partner, they would be a little forceful and boundary-breaking, but they would still try to at least be somewhat understanding. They see love as something you can just get or take because it's all they know: to take from people. You would have to show them that love is a two-way thing, and that respect is earned. They would nod their head, trying to forcefully give you a kiss, and that's when you have to kindly tell them that they have to ask or at least warn you. Overall, Bubba is a unique little fella and is pretty dangerous nonetheless. Sure, you would have to teach them a thing or two, but overall, Bubba does mean well some of the time
Along with just Bubba, could you do headcanons for the whole Sawyer family knowing an autistic reader? I myself am autistic and I love them all so much, I like to daydream about being apart of their family. Love your work!!!!
Of course I can!!
I'm autistic myself (level 2), and I also love to daydream about the same thing!! Oh, to be accepted into a nice, loving household of cannibals <33
It had been a few months since you moved in with the Sawyer family. Things were kind of hard for you because of the loud noises and the constant fighting the Sawyer brothers were always doing. It wasn't too long ago that you were diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, which made perfect sense due to all of your symptoms. People, specifically your parents, didn't believe you at first. They just thought you were a little quirky and unique. What they didn't realize was what was going on on the surface. It made you mad that people thought you were just "quirky"
What was so quirky about having an intense meltdown so badly to the point where you started biting and scratching yourself, your skin crawling, and all you could describe the feeling as was that there were bugs under your skin?? It didn't help that your meltdowns were over small things, which made you seem dramatic to neurotypical people. You would start crying in a heartbeat whenever you got too sensitive about what others think or when some sort of change happened in your life. "What's wrong with you??" People would ask you. To be honest, you didn't know what was wrong with you either
You felt out of place, alienated from the rest of society. You didn't feel like you fit in with the rest of the world. Part of you didn't even think you were human sometimes, with the way people treated you. Once you moved in with the Sawyer family, however, you felt more at home, since all of them were so weird. You liked their chaotic energy, feeling the urge to mimic their behavior and the way they would use their body language, finding it fascinating the way they did things. For example, sometimes you would talk in Drayton's tone of voice or the way Nubbins fidgeted with his fingers while talking. Anytime they would say something that made you laugh or smile, you would always repeat it back to them, making you giggle
They found your behavior to be peculiar in a good way. You fit in perfectly with the family since autism also runs in their family: Bubba was level 3, Nubbins and Chop Top were level 2, and Drayton was level 1. Drayton knew how to mask his autism around other people, but the other brothers.. not so much. Sometimes you had a hard time masking as well, but you were comfortable with unmasking with the Sawyer family. You knew how to take a joke most of the time, hearing Chop Top laugh and tell you that you're a little weirdo. He would ruffle your hair, letting out a little breathy chuckle. You would joke around with them, even Drayton sometimes, whenever he would take you out on car rides
Drayton would drive the family around in his rolling grill truck, but sometimes things would get a little rocky with the Sawyer family. You would start stimming, rocking back and forth. Nubbins would be the first one to notice, watching you as you shake your hands. "Hey, uh, somethin's wrong with them," pointing to you as Drayton looks back. "I told you boys, to leave them alone!! Can't a man get some peace and quiet around here??" He looks back to the road, shaking his head. Nubbins frowned. "W-Well, you were in on it too!!" He huffed. "Hey, can you guys not?? This is too overwhelming." You finally spoke up as Drayton sighed. "Alright, alright!! Everybody just shut up, why dontcha." He would try to distract or prevent you from having a meltdown because he didn't want anyone crying, or someone was going to have to walk home
Nubbins would panic a little if you ever had a meltdown, looking around for something to see if he could help in any way. He kind of sucked at it because of his lack of empathy, but at least he even considered helping you. "Ya doin' alright??" He tilted his head to the side as he asked. You looked over at him and shrugged your shoulders. "Yeah, um, I'm fine." You cleared your throat, looking back out the front window. The road was a little rocky as you guys entered the driveway of the farmhouse. Chop Top got out of the car, rushing over to the back of the truck for the rest of you to get out. Because of your mood swings, it was hard for you to stay upset for too long. Nubbins helped you out of the truck, trying his best to keep you regulated. You were happy to have a friend like Nubbins
Chop Top wouldn't understand very much due to his autism as well. He doesn't pick up on social cues very well, so he has a hard time reading a room. He was also very touchy with people whenever he got too excited, grabbing them by the shoulders, or even if he's close to someone, giving them a little kiss on the head. For example, you could've come up with a pretty good idea for something, like an idea to capture a victim or whatever, and his eyes lit up as he grabbed you by the head, giving you a big ol' smooch on the head, "Oh, man, you're a genius!!" He exclaims. Chop Top looked over to Bubba, who seemed a bit quiet. He sometimes went nonverbal, going quiet, not even letting out a groan or a squeal
Bubba understood you the most out of the Sawyer family. He understood how it felt to be self-destructive during meltdowns, frequent mood swings, mimicking behaviors, and much more. He had a hard time communicating, only speaking in grunts, groans, and squeals that sounded like a pig. Bubba would sometimes tug on your shoulder or tap you on the shoulder, giving you a thumbs up to ask if you were doing alright. Bubba did just that, tugging on the collar of your shirt. You turned around, staring up at the larger man as he gave you a thumbs up to check on you. "I'm fine, big guy." You gave him a reassuring smile. You were glad to have a new family that was so understanding and could accept you for who you are
