MR. MERCEDES (TV, 2017- ) - The Bill Hodges books are some of the best work of @stephenking's career. I was psyched to hear they were adapting them into a series, until I found out it was for the @directv exclusive @audiencenetwork. Flash forward a year, and this former Dish customer decided to take advantage of DirecTV's switching deal. So far, one of the many perks has been being able to catch up with this brilliantly executed series. Brendan Gleeson is marvelous as Hodges, and they couldn't have cast the role of his foil Brady any more perfect than they did with Harry Treadaway. The supporting cast is excellent as well, especially Justine Lupe, Breeda Wool, and Holland Taylor as Holly, Lou, and Ida, respectively. If you enjoy tense, unnerving, disturbing, suspenseful crime shows, this takes it to the Nth degree, then quadruples it.
