Wow, that really means a lot to me!  I'm glad you like my Karkat cosplay, and I'm always excited to hear I've inspired people to start cosplaying/cosplay 'better'.  If cosplay is a hobby that you want to pursue in a, so to speak, 'serious' manner, constantly learning more about sewing, propmaking, wig styling, and the like, constantly challenging yourself, is a great way to progress to the most elaborate stuff!

To be perfectly honest I'm way behind the learning curve, having cosplayed for 11 years and not progressed much at all. But there are many many more resources available now compared to when I started - wigs and costume contacts are easier to get, tutorials are everywhere, etc.  I wish you the best of luck! =D
