Giu felt his best friend shift in her seat. She muttered something under her breath.
Elise: Plus, education is kinda important.
Unfortunately, their tutor heard her.
Mrs Thomas: Education is important, Elise. Let’s hope your work ethic improves a bit more from last year.
Elise grimaced as their tutor took the roll before handing out their timetables, starting at their desk. As Mrs Thomas moved away, he quickly scanned his before glancing at his best friend’s. Before he could talk, a voice piped up behind them.

Elise was interrupted the arrival of their tutor, the formidable History teacher, Mrs Thomas carrying a stack of papers that most likely were their timetables. Looking over the rim of her glasses, she watched the seventeen year old Elise do as she was told, scooting to her chair and sitting down. Giu, who had been waiting to see what Elise was going to say, sniggered slightly as Mrs Thomas moved past them.
Giu: Yeah, get off the desk.
Elise rolled her eyes at him but stayed silent. Mrs Thomas turned around and let her eyes fall on each face.
Mrs Thomas: This is your last year, hard to believe, I know. Make the most of it because this year will undoubtedly impact your for the rest of your life. Work hard, have fun and if we find anyone smoking in the toilets again, Principal Stratton has warned there will be consequences.
Her eyes darted to Giu’s cousin Lauren who went red around her ears.
Mrs Thomas: Notices will be going up for clubs and societies, check the boards and please behave yourselves. You are representing Twinbrook whilst you are here, and we have a reputation to uphold, not destroy.
