when and how did you realize codie was it for you?

I don't think I can pinpoint a specific moment bc it happened over several months, but I can give you some observations I had that made me come to the realization (and continue to reinforce my decision to this day hehe)

-Seeing her interact with my family and friends, how kind and respectful she is, how she instantly got along with everyone. How nice she is to animals as well! How much care and love she puts into the things she does for others.

-How smart she is!!! She is so quick minded for making remarks and jokes, so eloquent and such a good writer, she is really good with words overall. Also she is so curious about the world in general, and that is always amazing to see. I love asking her things and debating with her and learning together.

-She's a really patient person and that brings me so much peace. Back at the beginning, I wasn't sure about starting a relationship (and i was shitty to her bc of it) because my head and life were in a very weird place and I was not ready to exist as a lesbian lol. Through this mess she was really patient and gave me the space and time to find everything out, reassured me a million times, waited for me and didn't pressure me into anything.

-This one sounds practical and not romantic but she is a very responsible person in the way she manages her space, takes really good care of her belongings, is very methodical about things like food prep, house organization, cleanliness and personal care and I am the complete opposite so I'm very lucky to have someone who is like this 😅

-When we started dating we were already roommates (together 24/7) and then we had to do long distance for months. So I got a taste of what life is like when she is near and when she isn't. We managed to grow together and separately, and it sounds dumb and gay but everything is enhanced, better, more worthy when she is there. Life is just more fun, more warm, less scary. Obviously we've had our tough moments too just like every other couple, but my life is better when she's in it, always.

If you ever think you're a little bit dramatic here's a list of things that Codie has done ever since she booked her wisdom tooth removal surgery:

-Tell me she's feeling as if she's "waiting for the death penalty"

-Ask me to tell her parents she loves them

-Book a date on our shared calendar with me called "Codie's Final Dinner💀" for the day before the surgery.

I told codie that my study desk looks messy but that it looked ✨aesthetic ✨ and so I took a pic to show her and she proceeded to say "aww you're so cute... like a rat. you eat like a rat and you also live like a rat"

Yesterday Codie and I were walking around the street holding hands and an old man called our attention (we looked at him angry thinking we were about to get catcalled) and then he said, very excited,

"Viva el amor"

we don't know if he said it in a gay or ally way but regardless it made our day

I downloaded this countdown app to see how many days I have left until I see my wife again and it has made everything worse.

I really thought time was going slower because I wasn't counting the days well, so I thought "let me get the facts right so I can manage this better". The facts were right from the beginning. Reality hit me. Time is in fact going slower because I miss her.

I even refresh the app several times a day as if a miracle will happen 😭 18 days are so many days 😭 Sending a big hug to all my LDR lesbians you guys are so brave and strong and I don't know how you don't die of yearning.

On wednesday Codie and I will have our 6th anniversary and it's too hot/ we're too broke to go anywhere but she made me french toasts and a very nice frapée this morning jeje 🥰

I’ve been on a sort of vacation for the past 3 days and I’m finally back at work, thing is everything moves really fast in the project and I need to be available all the time if I wanna work on the good stuff.

Shark mentality or whatever lmao, anyways because I’ve been gone for a bit, I don’t get to work on the fun stuff and I’ve been relegated to bug fixing duties 🐛 which isn’t the most exciting thing to do.

However as always, my wife @hachenege knows my soft spot and tells me this after I complain about it:

I suppose this is the downside of developing empathy for inanimate objects. 😅
