“Opposites Attract?” Alecto sneers. “Have you ever heard of such a stupid thing?” She’s walking boldly down the corridor on the 5th floor on the south side of the castle, as though any hex would bounce right off of her. She’s got her people with her and Bellatrix has left school, so she’s as close to the queen Slytherin as there is. There is slim pickings this year for that role. Rita is clamouring for it, but she’s too young really, and besides Narcissa would get it by default, but Andromeda is older. Still, she seems to be avoiding the spotlight so it falls to Alecto to take the title for now. She loves being the centre of attention and she loves having people hanging off her every word (even if they sigh behind her back). Mulciber, Avery and Snape follow behind Andromeda, Alecto and of course Amycus. He is, of course, right by her side.
“It’s ridiculous.” She adds. Someone behind agrees with her and she lets out a giggle, not bothering to look back. This is the highest honour. To be strutting around the castle with the Purest families. Could it possibly get any better than this? “I mean, if it were true, Narcissa wouldn’t be slobbering all over Malfoy, would she? They are well similar, always preening and sucking up and hair whiter than the snow.” Alecto giggles again, and it’s a cruel laugh. Always a joke at someone else’s expense. Andromeda clears her throat but Al ignores it. “It’s true!” She adds, something just occurring to her and her voice goes slightly higher, more excited. “What person wouldn’t want to see their own reflection when they look in their lovers’ eyes?” She smiles at her brother, putting her arm through his and resting her head on his shoulder. “Anyone who thinks otherwise is a fool.”
