For anyone who might find this useful: if you cannot download anything from Google drive - specifically it zips but no process messages after that -  it was some setting that was changed during one the recent Windows updates that pushed Edge. Stuff does download in Edge. I thought I’d disabled the fucker, but it’s back and it’s doing things like this and eating my PDFs to open in browser. I currently don’t have another solution other than Edge, so if you do please let me know.

So beware and hope it helps. Give me the days when there was only a CD with an update on it and programs you could just buy for life...
