You’re absolutely right! I read a quote by Michael S. Kimmel the other day that said “Equality will always feel uncomfortable for those who once benefited from inequality.” And I think religion is one of those things that they don’t want you to mess with because your argument is better than theirs.
I actually had a really amazing conversation with Mitchell about all this the day it happened (there might have been some tears), and I wish you could have been there with us to talk about it! Most of the people I know are so happy about it - it’s been absolutely wonderful.

Obviously there are countries better than America. There's no denying that. But acting like it's only happening here, which is what I've seen people do, is just naive. It's everywhere. And I get why people would want to leave...never said anything about that. It's just for the people who think that by leaving, they're going to get completely away from it...nope.
And ultra conservatives exist in just about every country, unfortunately.
