Revenge
Characters – Roxanne Weasley, Caiden Addington
On a whim he decided to check the Gryffindor quidditch shed, maybe do some maintenance that day on his broom. He had done it last week, but having so many free periods this year left him more bored that he would’ve been if had to sit through at least seven lectures a day. Besides, having a nice broom would help him with tryouts.
When he arrived at the shed, nothing looked amiss, and he didn’t know why he was checking for something. There would’ve been an alert if someone had tried to tamper with the shed. He shrugged, maybe it was just the boredom causing him to purposely look for something to do.
After tapping the door in the correct manner, he pushed it open. He was met with the usual crimson and gold clad room, the uniforms hanging pristinely on one side and all of the Gryffindors’ brooms on the other wall. Again nothing looked odd.
That was until his eyes landed on his broom. He titled his head, attempting to figure out why his broom had suddenly gone from a deep mahogany red color to a neon pink.
It too him all of three seconds to get a list of people that would do something as childish as this. Roxanne being his number one on the list.
He sighed.
The first thing he had to do was figure out how to change back his broom color. He quickly ran through a mental list of spells that he could perform to revert the color.
He tried everything from reparo to retro colovaria. Nothing was working.
After another few attempts, he gave up deciding to seek out his suspects, looking for his number one.
It took him three trips up and down the moving staircases, and one trip across the school before he found her.
He approached quietly. “So why is my broom neon pink, and why can’t I fix it?”
Roxanne for her part didn’t jump in shock, but instead turned around grinning. “I thought pink would suit you.”
“It’s really not my color. So how do I fix it?” He wasn’t really mad, he just didn’t want to be seen riding a pink broom, it would probably get the rumor mills spinning.
“It’ll wear off in a couple of days.” Roxanne shrugged.
“Days? I thought it was a simple colorvaria charm.” Caiden exclaimed.
Roxanne grinned again. “Oh don’t be so uptight about it.”
Caiden ran a hand through his hair. “We have practice today and tomorrow, and you’re expecting me to ride on a pink broom?”
“It’ll be fine.” Roxanne said.
“Yeah sure.” Caiden grumbled. “I’ll get you back, I hope you know that right?”
“I was expecting it.” With that Roxanne walked off.
Caiden watched her for a few seconds before heading in the direction of the library. He needed to think of a way to get Roxanne back without being unoriginal.
In fact it took a week for his broom to go back to its usual color, but in that time he thought of a way to get back at Roxanne.
He was going to charm her keeper’s gloves to move away from her every time she grabbed them for at least an hour and then he’d have them be too big or small when she put them on.
Alright it was childish, and wasn’t as clever as Roxanne’s original prank was. At least he would be amused by it for a little while.
