Tbh, I've never really hated Flint. I see him as a grieving man who could only see what he's lost (Hinawa, Claus) instead of what he still has (Lucas, Boney.... I guess?). It doesn't make his neglect of Lucas acceptable at all, but it does explain why he spends all day looking for Claus and tending to Hinawa's grave. Idk what else to say except get that man a grief counselor.
