4thSLA R&E Colloquium: Language, Communication, Society and politics for Heritage
For the first time, the SLA colloquium is overwhelmingly student-centered and led by student organizations. If the last colloquium introduced the new Research and Development Agenda of the College, this time different and emergent voices were heard.
The School of Liberal Arts Student Organization (SLASO) provided much help in convening the course-based student groups such as: AB Student Organization; Social Work Society; Communication Society; and English Society. The MSC Litera Club already had successfully co-organized Tertulyang Pampanitikan last April 12 and 23 with the MSC Sentro ng Wika at Kulturang (SWK) Marindukanon. SLASO co-organized the colloquium with the SLA Center for Language, Indigenous Cultures and Knowledge (CLICK) Marindukanon.
Based on the MIMAROPA Regional Research and Development Agenda 2018-2022; National Harmonized Research and Development Agenda 2017-2022 and MSC Research and Extension Agenda, SLA student organizations helped to prepare at least 50 research presentations. There were 12 graduating students; 3 faculty members; 6 echo seminars; 9 non-graduating students and 19 Senior High Students who participated during the 4thSLA R&E Colloquium.
With high spirits, wholehearted thanks and appreciation to SLASO, ABSO, ComSoc, EngSoc and MSC Litera Club. May you flourish and prosper, this Heritage Month and International year of Indigenous Languages and 99thFoundation of Marinduque.
