Let's meet our 2018 contestants!!! I am happy to introduce our Ms. Kansas Universal 2018!!! Kimberly McDowell loves to be the unexpected and enjoys shattering stereotypes. As a professor (after earning her PhD in Communication Disorders and Sciences from Florida State) she has helped impact change in classrooms for over 14 years. She serves as a role model for women showing that you can successfully create a life where you are allowed to celebrate yourself as an individual while still serving others, leading change, and loving family (she’s Mom to 5 children)! Kimberly has spent the last 14 years in service and philanthropy focused on providing resources and advocacy for sick and injured children and their families after having a NICU experience of her own. She firmly believes that when it comes to a sick or injured child, it is NOT an option to be out of options. Given this belief, Kimberly has personally helped raise over $100,000 for children’s hospitals and agencies across the US serving sick and injured children and their families.
