She’s gotten herself stuck in the cellar. Not exactly STUCK, but it is proving much harder to get OUT than it was to come DOWN the cellar stairs. Juliet had gone looking for a bottle of wine or champagne, not for herself but for the little “spa” date she had. She should have considered a basket or a bag, she can’t carry a bottle, hold the railing AND use her cane at the same time. It doesn’t help that the stairs are very thin and steep.
A YELP leaves her throat when the lights go out, and Juliet blinks in surprise, hoping to make something— anything— out in the darkness. But it is truly pitch dark. The sound of approaching footsteps is a relief, should she have needed help in the light she might have been embarrassed, but she would really be stuck down here if she didn’t get a light. “Hey! Excuse me— hello! Up there! I need— I need some help! I’m in the cellar!”
