So. Since I created this blog for my worldbuilding projects, I thought it would at least be a good idea to list my current ones here so that people who see this post will at least know what to expect when they look through my posts. Do be aware that the summaries below are very broad and there is MUCH more to them besides what is stated. A lot of things are also subject to change, especially with the second one. And of course, if you have questions of any sort, ASK THEM!!! I love when people ask about my stuff and will be happy to oblige :)

My Singing Monsters: Beyond The Seam

This one is my main story project at the moment! I made it as a way to cope with hyperfixating on a rather immature subject matter because I felt really insecure about it. I usually abbreviate this one as MSMBTS or just Beyond The Seam. It’s essentially a reinterpretation of the MSM universe as a more solid fantasy world, akin to that of Lord of the Rings while also retaining some of the silliness from its source material. The Monster World (called Harmonaire now) is now not nearly as utopian as it is in canon but the monsters still find ways to feel hopeful and happy. There’s a whole music-magic system too, where depending on the composition of the song different elements of magic come together in different ways. Each of the monster races has their own ways of living, their own customs and what deities they worship, etc, and it goes pretty in-depth. I’ve been working on this one for about three years—maybe four—and I love working on it, it’s been my primary source of happiness for all that time. I plan to post small (and big) bits of lore occasionally :)

The Land of the Fifth God

LOTFG is my original universe. Most of the main story takes place on an alien planet called Thyraeia that is owned by a divine entity named Hekaara (after the Greek goddess Hecate), and controlled by their subordinates called the Wardens. Hekaara’s blessing upon the lands of Thyraeia allows for the existence of a magic system, which is overseen by the wardens of each of the ten elements. Despite its volatile ecosystems and environments, Thyraeia is considered a refuge for doomed races from other planets because of Hekaara’s promise to defend them. One of these races was humanity, forced to flee from an Earth made inhospitable by climate change. Only a small population of humans made it alive to Thyraeia, but all Therie (demonym for Thyraeia) humans are descended from this small population.

There is a whole story-in-progress I have about an unfortunate individual whose soul disallows them from dying properly. It is far from finished and I am still working out the characters and their backstories.

In case you can’t read my shitty handwriting (or the photo isn’t showing up, for which I apologize):

Galvana initiated development of the Wubbox and provided the ideas and blueprints needed to create it. She is also the one most often credited with their creation. However, when the final draft of the Wubbox was finished, a huge fallout with her working partner Zarroe led to her running away to Starhenge with what would become the Standard Model Wubbox.

Zarroe worked with Galvana to make the first prototypes (including Murmavin, see BtS fact no. 5) and owns all early Wubbox instances EXCEPT the Standard Model. After Galvana ran off with the final draft he proceeded to make his own wubboxes—the Biomechanical Model, which were accidentally released onto mainland Harmonaire sometime after the Cataclysm. In an event called the Great Thunder the two Wubbox models fought for dominance. The Standards, as a final jab to the Biomechanical wubs which they considered heretical, sealed their enemy into the Vaults for thousands of years until the (relatively) present day, where they were rediscovered as the Guardian (epic) Wubboxes, reclaimed by their area’s Colossals.

Standard Models are “born” (awoken) as a class called a Cadet which is basically just the stereotypical common Wubbox. After arduous training however they can specialize into one of four classes.

Paladins act as Harmonaire’s equivalent of policemen and keep the town/city/island safe. They also act as the first line of defense in war.

Clerics act as their paramedics and nurses and help those in need of medical attention. They usually hang around in alleyways or around crowded areas waiting to be called.

Rangers act as their “comms”, and are usually the first to respond to any emergency before any other wub, and call other wubs to the location depending on the type of emergency. Think 911 dispatchers.

Bulwarks are the “heavy duty” wubs and act as Harmonaire’s equivalent of firefighters. Sometimes they also assist in construction.

Guardian wubs have a somewhat unknown purpose, but usually stick to areas around the islands rather than the islands themselves (I. E. Brushwubs hanging out in the densely forested Brushlands around Plant Island) and require food, water and sleep to survive. They can be aggressive towards other monsters, especially since many Guardians are territorial. However, they are known to be quite hostile to the Dissonance and because of this are sometimes worshipped as “Demi-Celestials”.

OUGHHHHH I love talking about wubboxes but I do NOT!!!! Have the Energy nor Time to draw them!!!! And it is Messing Me Up!!!!!!!

The Ethereal Island Epic Wubbox is one of the few monsters I actually consider a standalone character in my AU aside from the Celestials, Colossals, and Spurrit along with maybe a couple others. His name is Murmavin, meaning “Chance” or “Miracle” in United Standard Harmonic. He is one of the only active prototype wubboxes besides Bauhaus, the Wubbox progenitor (if you can even call him a prototype).

Being a Guardian (or, in canon, Epic) Wubbox, Murma is biomechanical. Unfortunately in his situation it’s more of a curse than a blessing because he was born prematurely. He has a lot of scars from the way he “hatched” and congenital deformities which were patched up with a few spells from Zarroe, the most significant of which being his would-be missing limbs. Besides the issue of his birth defects, he has to eat and drink and sleep like all Guardians do. He also has quite a few vitamin deficiencies that keep him from going outside safely, which his cloak helps with.

“Werdo” is used kinda like the word “buzzard” in Harmonaire. It’s used to denote a few specific species of monsters (sort of like the Honey Buzzard in bird terms) but also refers to a group of similar monsters that are not Werdos (in bird terms, this would be turkey vultures and hawks).

Aside from this, Werdos can take a surprisingly wide variety of forms. Some are modified by a higher entity to be centaurs or invertebrate-resembling or something else. Since all Werdos are humans that the colossals liked so much that they kidnapped them to Harmonaire, or descended from such, they’re kinda favorited by the colossals. Many of them that are not translators or performers of some kind are actually shamans and interpreters of divine messages.

Sorry that this one was late, I had tons of work to do and no time to write.

And yes, this does mean I kinda consider BBli$zard a Werdo. Technically.

Mammotts are based on stereotypical fantasy dwarves. They like mining. They like singing little songs while they mine. They like alcohol. They’re hairy as hell. They have a deep sense of brotherhood with each other (mostly because they used to be herd animals before a very certain deity of cold came in and turned them into people). And they’re surprisingly good at forging weapons despite the element of Fire being housed a continent to the south. They’re also really short.
